Instructional Tapes and/or Manuals......

If one is limited to his/her choice of schools and/or instructors,and had to resort to instructional videos & books......just your input if you would.Also,have you ever learned a move or two from a tape or book then actually applied it in realtime?One more thing,when I polish up my skills,I would like to bump into a(fine)Chic with a Stick and do some Dumog with her...if she's any good I may have to bust out with a little Kino(a)Mutai...any thoughts..?
