So what's a cheap, heavy stick to use to practice with? I am thinking of getting two wooden bats and that way if I need to add weight, I can just put one of those weights that go around the tip (like they use in the majors). Any other suggestions or peoples particular favorites.

    Good idea!

You know, that does sound like a good idea to do, my brotha. I just may do that with the baseball bats also.

        Heavy swingin handle

I currently use a long(35 plus inches) fiberglass-fashioned handle for sledgehammer.
        To alternate with, I also use a 14"length x 3/4"width steel rod.

I use both types that help isolate certain details in the techniques/angles of attack I practice to assist in developing power and proper form and execution.

I'll still go for using the baseball bats also. It wouldn't hurt to try.

        Gago!

I use about the same that Gago uses, except that I use two of the long fiberglass sledgehammer handles, and every now and then, I do use the steel, straight rods like the ones at they gym used for tricep cable pulldowns.
