Yes,It has multiple Dog brothers fights, along with clips of ?(cant think of his name,Boxer, from england, small guy, really popular some years ago, wore leopard skin trunks)a nasty street encounter in the Phillipines,2 Cefferino Garcia fights from the 1940's.Good stuff
this is one of the best things offered in the instructional video market. it is appliable to almost any combat sport and... just freakin' buy it! you'll see.
Looking forward to get my DVD next weekend on the Crafty Dog seminar in switzerland. Worked out some KaliTudo material at the Lonely Dog seminar in germany this year. Very effective material.
I just got these. I like the Dog Brothers, but after one viewing, I am personally not very impressed with the Kali Tudo DVDs. DVD #2 only has about 24 minutes of instruction on it, the rest of it is extras (I did like the interview a lot, but...). Some good stuff, but not enough 'meat' in my opinion. Most of it seems to deal with angles of attack and defense, but the applications are not really that novel and the underlying ideas and principles are certainly not foreign to MMA competition (IMO). As such, I cannot see this series having the effect on MMA fighting that is suggested in the advertising. Time will tell.

I got my DVD, too. It seems you're thinking the DVD contains all of the KaliTudo in DBMA..... i'm sure that's WRONG. As Crafty Dog said two times at the DVD, there's KaliTudo Groundwork, too. For sure available next time i think..... But also for the standup there's a lot more material as the DVD shows... i'm sure, because i saw something of that last weekend in switzerland.

No, you've not interpreted my thinking on this correctly. I read the promotional advertising for the product on the DBMA website, and I knew what to expect - e.g., no groundwork. I also have watched the DVDs, and so I know what the objective of this particular instructional was and what is to come.
I based my comments on what I saw on the DVDs in terms of what to expect and what was delivered. Some interesting stuff, but not a lot off stuff, IMO, and the stuff that is there is not nearly as insightful as I would have expected - if you say that what you're offering is going to significantly affect the MMA world. I love kali, silat, and kuntao, by the way, so I am actually, if anything, biased toward seeing the best in the produt.
That's my opinion, and I am sure that you do not agree with it. I am not generally a very harsh critic of things like some people are and tend to find the good rather than the not-so-good, it's just that I was disappointed with what I saw in the instructionals and felt that it did not live up to the advertising/promotion. Others here are very impressed and satisfied with it, so that's great for them. I checked this thread before purchasing, actually. The main reason I'm giving my opinion is so that someone else who might be interested at least has another viewpoint and some more information to consider prior to buying. At $65 for what is really about 1 and 1/3 the length of most instructionals, it's fairly pricey (IMO).
I reiterate that I have the utmost respect for the DBMA, this is not a dig on them, it's just an honest review of the product.

Okay, that may happen I'm sorry for misunderstood you. I'm sure that Guro Crafty Dog's experiences with KaliTudo at the R1 Gym (Raw Gym) would be interesting for the main public, too. As i heard there're training very good and some well known Mixed Martial Arts Fighter and Crafty Dog is sparring sometimes with them!?!?!
For me the KaliTudo material is simple and logical. As every martial art you can't execute your technique from handbook sometimes, but this depends more on timing and skill i think.
The overall running time of this double DVD (I don't have it front of me so I don't have the precise time) is nearly 3 hours so although the amount of instructional time on disc 2 is limited, the overall instructional time is nearly two hours or a bit less than an hour on each-- about what you would get on most DVDs, plus you get the rare fight footage of Seferino Garcia (which is pretty cool for many FMA people) and the interview. All this for $65 which is a pretty low price for a double DVD.
I take the time to spell this out because we have always prided ourselves on offering a lot of bang for the buck e.g. in our first series the shortest video was 70 minutes and we currently sell all 6 for $108 dollars. Look at the prices for our DVDs and you will see that our prices are about value combined with what we hope people will find to be good quality of content and production values.
As for the merits of the material, that I must leave up to our viewers.
