I was reading through some books regarding these two styles and I was wondering if anyone could gimme any additional info on them...how to train them, things like that. I read about them in a book about Giron Arnis Escrima as well as Kali Illustrisimo. Thanks

Re: Ilustrisimo use
Elastico (referring to elastic, rubber band) is a method of moving in and out of range, in particular medio - largo and vice versa. It is done in a swaying motion. From the on-guard position, you will distribute your weight to the rear leg by pulling your torso back i.e. leaning. Both feet stay in place but the lead foot lifts at the heel.
In the example where a number one is fed, you evade and counterstrike the opponents weapon hand and follow up with a strike to the head. You will use the same method and weight distribution on the follow-up.
Basic exercise has the trainer feed 1-12 strikes (in order and randomly) as the trainee defends all by utilizing a simple ikis/equis strike targeting trainers weapon hand and following up to his head. Trainer uses a variety of defenses such as sungkit, vertical, estrella w/offset hand etc... to maintain the flow.
