  • Tucson, AZ?

    Greetings,

I was wondering if there are any classes (formal or informal) in Tucson that I don't know about. Right now I train in Phoenix when I can get there, and I LOVE it, but it isn't enough!! I am really hungry and just want to learn and practice as much as I can. I also want to work drills with different body types and learn new material. I have a friend who is interested in learning more stick so maybe we can get some people together, watch videos and play for two or three hours. Every morning.

I believe there is a Modern Arnis player named Edgar Cordova that teaches in Tucson. BTW...with whom do you train with in Phoenix? I have met or corresponded with pretty much everyone in the PX area.

You can PM me if you wish.

Thanks! Looks like they only do private lessons right now (with Guro Fred Wegner) but they may be starting group classes soon. Cool.

I am an SKSTA member and get up to train whenever I can (which isn't nearly as much as I want to). I am really really new but I LOVE it. Actually there is a seminar coming up with Guro Harley in Phoenix that you might be interested in, check out www.azkali.com for more info. The other two groups I am affiliated with are not FMA but they have definitely changed my life for the better. I am a Warrior School student (see www.warriorschool.com and initiation.warriorschool.com). And I am also affiliated with the Shinbikai Budo (www.shinbikai.org) on the other coast, but again I don't get to train with them nearly as much as I'd like to. I went to a gathering last spring where we got to do some stick and to play chanbara. It was the most fun I'd had in a long time.

My thoughts and words are my own.

Actually Mike, I corresponded with you under your other screen name tsefreeflow on Martialtalk. I even PM'd you about my visit last August. I will be back in PX for a few days the end of October. We can meet then if you'd like. I teach Kali Ilustrisimo under the Bakbakan banner.
