  • How to make darts for the Pana slingshot

http://primitiveweapons.com/products/sshot.html Check it out by scrolling down.

So, I got this great lil' slingshot as a gift for Christmas. I highly recommend you guys all get one. It's a great projectile weapon to shoot cardboard boxes with. Anyway, I recall a few months ago inquiring about this little weapon, and some of you stated that you made them yourself. The darts that came with this are top of the line, but I know that I may lose them in the future while shooting out in my backyard (I've lost many a throwing knife back there...can't seem to find them). Also, I would like to make the darts just in case the steel darts that came with the Pana may wear down due to constant sticking into cardboard and trees. Any help would be great, thanks.

Those darts look like they were made by a 4th grader in the P.I.

I'll post some instructions how to make those later. Its fairly easy.

How to make an Indian Target/Pana Projectile

      Materials Needed:

      1. 6 inch nails or 1/8'' diameter rebar cut into 6" length
      2. Hammer
      3. Anvil or any striking surface
      4. Chisel
      5. File
      6. Rubber bands
      7. Turkey/chicken/duck tail or wing Feathers. If not available Kitchen broom bristles is the next best thing for a flight not that stupid yarn that they had on the website for a flight.

      I'll post the Procedure later

For 22 dollars, you expect a higher quality pana. In the Philippines, we use abaca hemp instead of yarn. I also don't think it is a good idea to have a foam handle. I think it does the opposite of providing a secure hold. Anway, the only way to know for sure is to test the product.
