    Hello Everyone,

Throwing blades or projectiles just takes practice to get fairly decent at it.

Once you understand the basic principles you can throw many types of projectiles with a great deal of accuracy and power. Everything from nails, blades, screwdrivers, shuriken, ball bearings etc. etc Usually I throw several hundred throws at a session both left and right handed. If I can’t throw at my large target I use chopsticks for practice, sticking them into 1/2in sheet rock when I am power throwing, or stiff insulation for more accuracy or distance throws. You can check out a clip of me doing a couple of basic throws at www.bujinkandojo.net check out the multimedia section for the clip. Also, stay tuned for a Projectile Training Manual coming out (hopefully) in February/March.

      Throwers

      Two excellent projectiles:

      1. Screwdrivers
      2. or Tuhon Sayoc's favorite " a well balanced brick "

My favorite thing to throw is a tomahawk, but I'm all for thowing anything. However I don't see how you guys are having fon with a scewdriver; the ricochet is muder. The ricochet can be lessoned by throwing at a flat target as opposed to a round one (wall instead of a tree), but it still sucks. Outside of dodging what do you do about that?

screwdrivers should be thrown into the ground or other SOFT targets...the rebound from missed throws is agility training the secret of not having to dodge objects on the rebound is to stick them in the first place

It IS good agility training; i got one scar from it, but thats all I needed. Valid piont about the soft targets; if i would have read the posts properly before posting mine I would have seen that sheetrock and insulation were some of the targets of choice

              Boomarangs

              nuff said.

It's got distance thats why I like it, I don't think other thrown objects could match... thought there are the sling and spear combination weapons that have a grater distance then hand thrown spears.

If you've ever held or thrown an actual boomarang the large ones used to take down small mammals. It's a charm.

someone steals your purse... throw it at the guy... the low drum of the spining wood in the air approches and SMACK, you cracked his head open.

              Yippe!

Sling? Did someone say sling? If you're talking about the David and Goliath kind, then hell yeah! I've had so much fun with the sling, just thinking about it makes me dizzy. For me, it was the most dangeruos throwing weapon I learned. The rock would sometimes slip out which made it dangerous for me and anyone stupid enough to be around me I guess that's what made it so fun
