The Sayoc Kali Ireland Training Group are sponsored by Tuhon Tom Kier and Guro Krishna Godhania and we are hoping to have Tuhon Tom return to Ireland in the latter half of this year for a public seminar. Guro Krishna was in Dublin working with his reps in Warriors Eskrima (two of whom are also part of the Irish training group) on the Saturday March 4th and the Sunday March 5th was organised to work in Sayoc Kali with the training group.
Present: Guro Krishna, Dave Joyce, Aran, Dave G, Russell G, Mike, Brian, John, Liam, Kevin, Paul, Steven, Shane, Lionel, Mick, Johnny, Gerry and Jim
Guro Krishna began with some rig drills, then worked on some disarms with/without the blade and some strip disarms. We then worked on 5 different Non Linear Attacks from basic pendulum tapping. The group then worked on the 3 of 10 Smoking Knife Template with Guro Krishna emphasising a number of different points to work on. We then went to the Palusot Drill and followed on from there into Transitional Drill No 1 which gave the participants a chance to work on Level 4 isolations 1-6 and Guro Krishna reviewed Stop Locks and Receiver Grips. Some of the seniors worked on Transitional Drill No 4. The whole day was excellant and those who had not experienced working with Guro Krishna were delighted with the wealth of knowledge he passed on to the group. On behalf of the training group I would like to thank Guro Krishna for all of his help and advice and also thank Shane O'Neill who helped organise the days training.
