    to answer your question.

The most comfortable grip is best. The one you use mostly. You can get as many stabbing movements with either. I am learning more and more with reverse grip now, so I use this more. I suggest the grip you have practiced the most and that you are most comfortable with, which should be the fastest.

dude thats NOT a knife, thats a toy...its cool looking, but it isnt the sort of thing any serious blade player should carry. good company, but poor tool, and poor sd choice. pick up something you can open more than letters and boxes with....can it cut seat belts? could you use it to dig if you had to? cut a hole in the side of a crashed aircraft or car? most of the time knives are tools, sometimes they get thrust (hehehehe) into other duties as well, you are only as prepared as the tools you have.

What, my knife is not a toy, this thing is sharp as hell and it has a jagged edge so it cut through ropes and flesh. Besides, im not a serious practicioner of knives(or Steel), and this is all ill need to defend myself properly if i ever have to within my home. CRKT makes stylish yet deadly blades, you should get one!
But i want to to get another kick ass knife from REI that a real blade player such as yourself would use, but i dont know which ones are for looks and the ones that are for heavy duty use.

I got the 10" and the 8" for Chrismas but there's no back cut blade. I could grind that down though because it's only a 64th of an inch from being sharp. That's still a long way to go but i got the grinding tools to do it. If you need any more info I'll be happy to tell...what do ya'll think?

Ideally I prefer a hammer grip but it also depends on what type of knife and how it is carried. Afterall, drawing and opening it will be a factor.

The Ontario knife company makes a very nice licensed reproduction of the Hell's Belle bowie!!!! IF you shop around you can find em for a couple hundred.... retail is like 350.00 which is still cheap for a weapon that serious.
