if some of u dont know what YawYAn is well its a Filipino MA and perharps called ''Sayaw ng kamatayan'' or ''Dance of Death'' in english....it has similarities of muay thai but theres also a rumors that Yawyan is the ancestor of muaythai when i watched a clip of yawyan MA they said that MT is a copy of Yawyan...if ur interested or new to this well u can do some research about this...

Sorry brutha, as much as im sure us Filipinos would love to be able to claim the ancestry of muay thai, Yaw yan is a fairly new art on the evoloutionary combat scale. Though the Philippines has a long and noble history of martial arts themselves muay thai is not one of them. There is already much controversy from our southeast asian neighbors cambodia, laos, and Siam over who actually gave birth to the original thai arts. I do know that angkor wat has some of the oldest depictions of hand to hand combat in that region, which would make it hard to prove that the recent development of yaw yan by nap fernandez was the forebearer of muay thai, khmer, boran, korat or any other variation of those arts.

As far as I know "Sayaw ng Kamatayan " is the reciprocal of "Sayaw ng Likhaan"
Both are the products of what you are going to received in practicing
the Martial Arts particularly KALI .

Highly unlikely as the history of Yaw-Yans development started in 1972 if I recall. While there are similarities in their training methodologies and some kicks, there are just as many differences i.e. scorpion kick

They have a site www.yawyan.com but it has not been updated for quite a while. I understand the art has evolved considerably with more emphasis on weapons and the whole MMA forte. The original system as described to me and demonstrated by 1st generation student Ismael "Boy" Garcia was mainly stand up E-H.
