This seminar is a rare opportunity to train with Grandmaster Rene R. Tongson who has a combined 41 years of experience in Classical and Modern Arnis. He inherited from the founder GM Mateo D. Estolloso the classical Abaniko Tres Puntas System - a unique classical style with the intricacies of a largo and close quarter technique applicable in mano-mano, blades and practical weapons. He also holds the rank of Lakan Walo (8th degree blackbelt) in Modern Arnis
Grandmaster Tongson hails from Hinigaran Negros Occidental, the home
town of Professor Remy A. Presas and birthplace of Modern Arnis.
He travels regularly and conducts seminars and workshops in the Philippines, Australia, Europe, Russia and now in the USA. He is backed by his network of organizations in Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Hongkong and Philippines.
He is a Trustee of the International Modern Arnis Federation of the Philippines (IMAFP), and Founding Chairman of the Philippine Classical Arnis, a worldwide federation of tarditional FMA Instructors.
He is a recipient of FMA Digest`s MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2007, INTERNATIONAL GRANDMASTER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2006, International Martial Arts " HALL OF FAME " Awardee 2006, and the LAPU LAPU ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from the Deutscher Arnis Verband. He is a council member of Modern Arnis Council of Masters of the Philippines, Member- World Head of Family Sokeship Council of Grandmasters, Co- founder & Convener - Worldwide Family of Modern Arnis (WFMA), and core organizer of the 3rd FMA World Festival in the Philippines (2006), and 4th FMA World Festival in the Philippines (July 2008).
