  • Training Dog Brothers Kali Tudo(tm)

I thought I would start this thread for anyone who is training the Dog Brother's Kali Tudo material. My idea for the thread is that perhaps those of us training it can offer advice to each other, post video, etc, trouble shoot for each other.

Does that seem like a good idea? Or is there already a place where this type of thread exists?

For a brief account of my Indiana team and Kali Tudo go here:

    Woof Max:

Unpleasant matters in other areas of my life take my time and attention at the moment so it may take a while before I comment, but know that I look forward to your Adventure with all this.

      Crafty Dog,
Hope all the unpleasantness blows over sooner rather than later.

        Woof All:

I see I have neglected to mention here that I now have a "Kali Tudo" (tm) class meeting on Mondays at 11:00 in Hermosa Beach (that's Los Angeles County) CA.

If you are interested, please email me at craftydog@dogbrothers.com and tell me a bit about yourself.

        The Adventure continues,
        Marc "Crafty Dog" Denny

          Woof All:

At today's class Kenny Johnson came to help out. For those of you not familiar with the name, he is a world class MMA-wrestling coach. You saw him as Noguiera's MMA-wrestling coach on Spike's "TUF", and he regular works with people like Anderson Silva, BJ Penn and others of that ilk. After our two hour class, he left to train Anderson.

I know KJ from Rigan Machado's place. I took a wrestling lesson from him to clean up a wrestling based hold that I learned from Rico Chiaparelli; no problem with how Rico taught it!-- simply I was running into a particular problem that I wanted to solve as well as work on my underhooks, which have always been a bit of a mystery to me.

He was intrigued by the "Kali Tudo" (tm) moves I was putting on top of what he was showing me and we began to spar on various occasions. He is a gentleman as we play (good thing or I could get hurt!).

Today's session was videoed and may appear in future DB Productions.

          The Adventure continues!
