Hi All,
I had the pleasure of hosting Danny Guba for the first time in two years this past weekend, and as always he was a treat! We covered a lot of material and have begun to set in place the foundations for the expansion of Doce Pares (GB).
Percival Pableo was to have partnered Danny, but due to visa problems he was unable to make it. Hopefully next time. Danny was accompanied by Jim Smith, 3rd Degree Black Belt, and winner of the 7th WEKAF World Full-Contact Stickfighting Championship at Cruiser Weight. At great guy, and a pleasure to train with. At the World Championship, Danny was presented with his 9th Degree Black Belt, and made upto Grand Master under Dionisio Canete. Congratulations Danny, you deserve it.
Two of my students (and a local Wing Chun instructor) graded under Danny and all achieved their white belts. Congratulations to Peter Oxley, Peter Johnson and Paul Tennet. I was honoured to be presented with my Brown Belt grading at the end of the two days.
Now that the problem limiting the growth of the DP (GB) has been eliminated, we can go on as see the organisation grow as it always should have.
