four disarms names..anyone know them?

I'm getting ready to show the guy I train with the four basic disarms..but have forgotten their names...i remember

Stripping
Vining
Snaking

and?

Also, within boxflow sambrada, I was taught to insert snaking at the inside deflection.. but I forget where the other 3 are inserted, or which is inserted. I'm certain I an find it on my own with some practice.. but if anyone remembers, the info would speed me along.

thanks.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "stripping." The disarms that we use are named:

    Vine
    Leverage
    Thumb base
    Harness
    Snake
    Half-snake
    Peel

Describing them, though is going to be rough :-) Hopefully I've refreshed your memory for the ones you do.

As far as sumbrada ... I've seen several and am not sure specifically which one you are referring to. However, the inside deflection can also lead (without breaking the flow) to the vine, peel, or harness within the sumbrada.

      hrm

welll.. rather than ask you to give lengthy, crazy descriptions, I'll probably just teach him the moves and figure out their names later.

the four i was taught were all based on a wrist lock (the standard aikido kote-gaeshi(i think that's what they call it)).. the differences were just how you actually APPLIED the principal..

i can see their are several i haven't learned. that needles me

      thanks, mike..

LOL ... don't be needled too much. It may simply be that my instructor breaks down the classifications a bit more than yours. I mean, when you really get down to the most basic nuts and bolts all disarms work against the thumb and the opening of the fingers. They do it either through direct or indirect manipulation. How you name/classify them is somewhat irrelevant :-) It just makes life easier in training ... oh and in internet discussions ... sometimes :-)
