    Forget all the different angle of attack systems and liberate yourself with the Combat Clock. This is where you simply take the points of the clock (i.e. One O’clock, Two O’clock, etc.) Everybody can remember the clock! Then organize your strikes:

    1. Follow Through Strikes
    2. Hit & Retract
    3. Big Circles
    4. Small Circles
    5. Fans
    6. Thrusting Stabs
    7. Hooking Stabs
    8. Pommel Strikes

    Then start to work your combinations. Here’s an example of how I would put this together:

    Start with follow through strikes following this sequence:
    * 2 o’clock
    * 10 o’clock
    * 3 o’clock
    * 9 o’clock
    * 4 o’clock
    * 8 o’clock
    * 6 o’clock
    * 12 o’clock

    Next, do the same thing, but insert any thrusting stab that feels comfortable after each follow through strike on the designated clock angles.

    After that, practice standing, kneeling and on your back!

    There are many, many possibilities here that make swinging a stick much easier to inculcate all the good fighting stuff.

    Have fun!

    Out
