But you need to open your eyes and start being a young student rather than a wise master.
i only speak of what i know. If you want an opinion i have no problem giving mine.

a young student can still have ideas. Perhaps you should open your eyes, and see the difference between sarcastic remarks and insightfull observations.

There is no wise master, just an older student....

Iv been around MA's "seriously" for about 3 years, and had always been intrested in them for as long as i can remember.

thats not all that long but iv picked up a few things....

I think the biggest thing is, its not hard to seperate the crap, from the quality information. All you have to do is remember the good stuff, and get rid of the crap.

iv been lucky to find some very good martial arts clubs around me, and when you find the write places, it realy opens your eyes to all the of crap thats out there.

i spent a good two years playing the "young student" just watching, learning....but now that i do have "some" information to share, i see no problem doing so.

im a relativly informed person, and im not ignorant, so why not voice my opinion? (gramar aint no indication of intelegance )

incase you didn't already notice, my first post was mainly sarcastic and friendly in tone, i wasn't bestowing any great knowledge that i posses. Half the fun of action movies, or horror for that matter, is making fun of the sensationalized action sequences that are portrait on the big screen.

i wasn't commenting on PMA at all, or on any of the US militaries training, i was only making a coment on how i am looking forward to seeing how they put together those characters "best in the world" fighting skills.

      plzshtpu LOL FEG

hi, talking sure is fun, time to LOL

      everything's done for a reason...
      nonesense even has its purpose

      NOTHING is useless...
      just when to use it

no one should say anything is useless as it must have worked at some point, maybe not for you and 10000 other people but for 20000 it does and did....or 5000 it does and did....whatever

flowery moves, purpose?...unpredictability = UP drastically...

silly stances - ...good question, i don't believe in silly stances that much...but generally to invite an attack and counter well...again, must have worked at some point

impractical form - train with form to get good foundation and learn fundamentals to generate good power and such, then change it

weird "WTF" are you doing systema/aikido/taichi - ya sure..over emphasis on softness or ..fluidity, not always ..and often not practical looking at all....all having its reasons, too lazy to get in depth with this

nothing sucks mang....nothing's crap. if you're taught super cool-like ...and you're a smart creative dooder/doodette.....you'll know what everything is for

I'm no pro...not yet ....but i find useful things about even the silliest of moves

even in UFC and such...you see them sometimes do silly things and it works!

particular reference to Sakuraba, Genki Sudo, Carlos Newton, heck even ortiz...(but he's pretty crude )

hey dooder, just less put down of things... i'mma call you newbie okay dokay dood?

ok...im not sure if this post is ment as a response to my previous posts, but ill treat it like it is.

ok its obvious you dont know anything about systema...dont coment on it....

iv NEVER said any martial art was "useless".

i have said in previous posts that i think sometimes using "creative" moves is good to improve your fighting skills, if anything just to keep you feeling creative (this was the stick to basics thread i think)

some things do "suck" and some things are "crap"...i was not taking about technique i was talking about information i think that was obvious....

i said russia was the best place for knife defence because I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!!!! its a joke..trying to keep thing light..

you made some decent points, but i have no idea what they have to do with anything previously stated in this thread.

You need to desensitize yourself to all the crap, uselessnes and McDojos out there. Instead of shaking your head in disgust and being perturbed by it you should enjoy it. Revel in it. Smear it all over your body as though it is a wonderful, nourishing, and comforting handful of your own divine excrement. OK maybe not the last thing. But you should try not to get your panties in a knot when you see or hear about an art you dont believe in.

I was the same way once, annoyed at and vocal about McArts.
Now I love passing by Master Tommy Chang's Black Belt World, and I dont give two shits about it.

Its like the same thing with homophobia: instead of trashing gays for sexing with men, worry about getting some pussy of your own. (innapropriate, yet strangely fulfilling and pertinent ananlogy)
