    i agree with reactor

most instructors never really say move in a v or traingle (in the philippines) anyway
its usually what feels comfortable with you and what works

      Bruddah Haumana,

I've been concentrating on FMA's. I'm finally getting my degree in October, so training time has been very slim for me. I haven't talked to Olohe in awhile. I haven't heard of any training going on back home, but am curious on the content their teaching. If you hear anything, please keep me informed.

Yeah I have been really putting more emphasis da FMA's as well. But try to stay current, I went to Arizona a while back to train with Olohe Kaihewalu (who doesnt really get along methodologywise with the Eli's) But it was good training just the same. I have som pics, I can send. I also have a pretty cool video of me competing NHB stick, I have em blow the conch as I come from the dressing room, the guy I fought outweighed me by 30lbs, and was 7 in. taller than me and his stick was 31 compared to my 27". I fought wearing a light helmet only and lavalava, and afterward blew into a Haka in the ring. Kinda crazy but hey ya only live once. I have it on VHS, but will see if I can get it on computer to send to you. Good to hear from ya.

Moromoro, What ya stated in your last post maeks a lot of sense, many teachers dont really describe the basis of their footwork, just whatever works. Tatay Josefino, who taught me was a ctually a Filipino cultural dancer and performer as well, so of course he emphasised footwork with me. Rock on, braddahs!

          footwork is important

I train jkd kail under Sifu Mark Balif and sifu Mark stwert and both say the same things footwork timing and controling distance make the difference and very important. in my own personal experience time and time again footwork has saved my ass and to get the better lines of attack and evade attack to have to have an transport system to get you there. this should not be a topic about footwork how to you get close enough to beat the shit out of the guy if your feet dont move unless you can fly or telaport then foot work is very vital

win or lose in the gym experience is everything
