I wouldn't know the differences of two I never seen exaclty Kong Han trained only hearsays. I think Richard can answer that since he knows how people trained in both schools. I think Beng kiam trains more on the external.

popot: thank you very much for the advice!!! i never thought of that ;-) LOL silly me...thanks again

im back from china...the trip was good...it brought my nck to 'another level'...ill post some piks from shaolin temple when i have the time...

kong han and bing kiam(and most other nck schools in the PI) trains the same since both came from the same GM...kong han later added hooking footwork from tai-tzo to some of the katas but all in all its basically the same...the chinese NCK even had pieces of Kong Han's flavour in it since GM Lo King Hui tought a gr8 deal to our mainland brothers(some wont admit it,but some openly admit that they did learn a lot from us flips-chi)...next that the shaolin monks requested our master to teach was the 12ft pole...i heard that nobody is practicing it anymore...only us guys in Kong Han...as i overheard masters speaking in china...even here only 3 guys know how to do it,master,an 87yr old man,and another disciple...i also saw WC delegates in china...didnt notice how they practice much bec i was too sleepy to hear and notice everything happening...

practicing in both clubs is a taboo i suppose....its still quite traditional the way things go here in chinatown...if u mentioned that u are practicing from somewhere else or was practicing from somewhere else...some wont admit u bec of 'delikadesa'...or just to give face to the other club...its usually this way...if u join a club u stay w it for life...a dojo hopper is frowned upon my the old folks bec he gives the impression of an impatient man...and lacks loyalty...i am having a hard time explaining this to some westerners but i suppose that we can understand this given that we have the concept of 'pakisama' and 'brotherhood' asian style' joinng a kung fu club is like joining the freemason...its a leap of faith...

ang haba ng sinabi ko kakaunti lang naman gusto ko sabihin hihihi :-)

tan ka hong onced coined that 'look at hoy(Master)King Hui's boy's practice.its very much the same as ours.' heard this while some guys are discussing how NCK looks very much like tai-tzo...in fact...tai tzo looks more like NCK than our malaysian brothers practicing it( i will stand corrected if im wrong...i apologize in advance.)

there was once too many conflicts and contradictions among nck schools worldwide(this is happening to WC now i suppose)...thats y our GM Lo King Hui started the intl s shaolin wuzuquan union in the 80's and in the event became the 1st chairman and pres up to his death...next is shi kim tong...it was expensive for kong han to be in such a prestigious position then.and GM Lo King Hui was also instrumental(as i was told) in rebuilding the s shaolin monastery.i suppose this is the reason the city officials in quanzhou(and every member of the union)hold Kong Han in such hi regard almost every martl arts club in fiken has some links and conn to GM Lo King Hui(too nad he died). S shaolin brings TONS OF US$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to quanzhou every year!!!! :-) im starting to think of opening another shaolin monastery here in my backyard hahaha!!!

Thanks Pitbullz..... that will avoid an embarassing situation.
I should have thought that, don't have the intention to jump dojos after I find a good master, just want to learn as much as possible...

there was once too many conflicts and contradictions among nck schools worldwide(this is happening to WC now i suppose).
Actually some of the students of Yp Man claimed that they got secret teaching from him... that even Yip Man's sons didn't get...

One of them, William Cheung, claimed he only knew WC's secrets, said many bad things about Bruce Lee and other masters and that he could beat any other WC master...
Unfortunately a very tough german wc practitioner came to one of his seminar and took the challenge.... W. Cheung got badly beaten....

Curiously there are many other wc schools not from Yp Man's lineage.... we even have Malaysian and Vietnamese brother's.

im starting to think of opening another shaolin monastery here in my backyard hahaha!!!
One of my gf friends knows a foreigner who had a copy of the Shaolin temple built in Cebu island for 5000000 U$ (around 30 km inland from Cebu City), they teach different martial arts there, it is a kind of headquarter of an international ma organisation and foreigners are coming there....
I may visit it when I'll come back....

wow!!! what was he thinking building up his own shaolin temple???? hes crazy!!!! if not for the money hehehe

thats fine :-) if u just want to learn stuff and techniques than i may suggest that u ask and hang around people who can help.

yes i also read somewhere about how magulo WC politics is...grabe...i also read of the emin incident...too bad it had to go that far...i also have that video here...looks more like a judo match :-) i also read that they hasnt yet decided on a GM as of now...kasi nagaaway lagi...i also read that the viet lineage is the most off-shoot..is this true?

ngek...yipman mustve loved his students more :-) must be another marketing stint

Some of my gfs business partners are very rich and don't know the value of money.

I will go to this temple next time and take pictures.....

Actually William Cheung was out of balance, he tried a very stupid move against a skilled opponent, that's why he got thrown down and beaten on the ground.

There is another wc master who is really greedy and tells lots of lies (ie he is the successor and knows secret footwork).... Our school is from Yp Man's lineage (through his son Yp Cheun)...
Actually Y. Man's two son's never made any claims about secret teaching, they are very decent.....

Yp man didn't name a successor.....
I don't know much about the vietnamese lineage but you may be right....

                    Hi

No there is none in the Philippines. You may search for it in the net. Some say the system is different to Yip Man's lineage. They have their own forum.Hung Fa Yi

Anytime bro! Basta balitaan mo ako tungkol sa aral mo. Hey nung nasa pinas ako. I tried to learn nck. I learned a little Sam chien. But I lost track of a student in our school who was teaching me. Damn I wish I could have learned more. But I asked they said, kung di ka chinoy or chinese we will not teach. Sam chien was an awesome experience. I want to learn it kahit pang sarili lang. Kc I felt it's benefits.
