I'm interested in Eskrima and would like to know if their is a good school in Sacramento. I'm in my mid 30's and have no background at all in Martial Arts.
I know there is Bahala Na, Doce Pares, Dog Bros., Cerada as well as some of Max Sarmiento's guys. Not a lot of it is publically taught. Some of the best groups are backyard or garage affairs. You might try contacting Tony Somera down in Stockton. He is more familiar with the local scene and can give you a referral.
If you're looking for FMA in sacramento,ca you'll find the Doce pares multisystem group of GM Dionisio CAnete,Pat Kelly teaches jkd/kali/kempo,the KUntawman teaches arnis,GM Rene Latosa is in sac. There's a lot. If you lived in Vallejo we teach Kombatan of GM Ernesto Presas. Call me up at 707-644-3873 if interested in Kombatan. Happy hunting.
Thanks for all your help. I'm leaning towards Sayoc Kali, but I'm not able to find an instructor in Sac. Anyone know where I can learn it in Sacramento/Stockton. If not what is similiar to the art.
