Anybody here trained under him? Is he a good teacher? What about Bob Orlando?

Uncle is a phenomenal practitioner. Learning from him is difficult. One of his favorite phrases is "struggle with it." He'll show several things - they have a common thread to them but it can be hard to spot - then he'll say, "OK. Now you struggle with it."

Once you start getting it, though, there's a *huge* wealth to be learned from the man.

I've only met Bob a few times and only trained with him once. He's a nice guy and good at communicating what he knows. While Bob has trained with Uncle, he's also got a lot of other influences that he draws from. If you want good training with some of Uncle's flavor then Bob would

If, however, you're specifically interested in Uncle's flavor of Kuntao Silat then I'd recommend you go to one of his seniors who has more specialized with Uncle. Since you're asking about Bob, I'd assume you're in the Denver area. If you're looking specifically for Uncle's flavor then I'd recommend visiting Keith Moffett's school (he's the only one running a public school and teaching material specifically from Uncle in the Denver area that I'm aware of).

Thanks a lot for the info., Mike, unfortunately I'm quite far from Denver, I'm in Puerto Rico right now. I have been considering getting back to the States, and location of good martial art schools is a prime consideration. In fact, i had been on the lookout for vacancy in the Colorado area just to train with Uncle Bill or Bob Orlando. Any leads or ideas are much appreciated.

I don't have any leads or ideas to help you. I live in Louisville, KY - about 1100 miles from Denver

        Sorry.

Paco. There is also a distance learning program you can sign up for. The link is here. http://www.kuntaosilat.com/gurucourse.htm Although I don't believe you can really learn a martial art via video, if its your only option and your really interested...well then its your only option!
