Nono Keven don't put words in our mouth wwe didn't find cartwheels nonsense and didn't make fun of you for the cartwheels but for wanting to start with that because of the danger

Exactly, Kevin I think your argument was that people should not learn breakfalls when they start, rather cartwheels from a throw. Thea is the part where there was disagreement and Judoguy agreed that breakfalls should be learned at the start.
What about my question on Fusen Judo. Do you or Judo guy or anyone have information or experience with it. I am cuious becuase if pre 1925 judo emphazized the ground game more I have to question the uniqueness of BJJ or brazilian judo.
Also, the book mentioned that Sambo was a combination of judo, studied in japan and soviet wrestling (didn't know that).

(8) Fusen Ryu. Mataemon Tanabe was persuaded to reveal the core of his syllabus to Kano after the disasterous match between the schools in 1900. The Kodokan got stomped. The Fusen people had great wrestling-style ne-waza, and the rules prohibited deadly techniques. The Fusen school might have won anyway, that is not the point. The point is that Kano realized the need for good ne-waza.

.Turn out's and turn in's and cartwheel's are a self defense weapon/tactic.They are So important that they should be taught first before falling. You have to admit it is a much more positive skill than learning how to be beaten, You want beginners to be exposed to a positive enviorment so that they will be successful and stick with it.The falling practice first would be so you can use the beginners for "Raw Meat" or practice dummies.
It would depend on the selfishness level of the coach.Being fair and treating people as you would like to be treated producing champions, or treating people as losers and running them thru for your sadistic enjoyment!
Imagine a Japanese world champion taking his little kid to learn Judo what would he have him doing first? He would like to see him beating the other kid's up right? He wouldn't just stick him out there to watch him lose. They would be teaching them to throw at home not teaching him how to fall and be beaten. How would you teach your kid?
Do they teach boxers how to be knocked out? NO they teach them how not to be hit!

That world champion would be teaching his kid (among other things) to be tough. He wouldn't begin with a seminar on nurturing environments and self-esteem.

If you fall without knowing how, it's going to cause frequent injury.
