And on it goes...
"Yokozuna Asashoryu brutally accounted for archrival Kyokushuzan on Tuesday to remain undefeated after three days of competition in the March Grand Sumo Tournament at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium.
In the all Mongolian match-up, Asashoryu out-thrust his foe, his slaps soon sending Kyokushuzan from the ring."

"Astounding Asashoryu held off renowned giant-killer Tochinonada to notch up his sixth straight win Friday in the March Grand Sumo Tournament at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium.
Tochinonada sent a flutter through the hearts of the crowd after he fought back from the bales and appeared to have Asashoryu reeling, but the yokozuna is made of sterner stuff, quickly whipping around and driving the maegashira no. 3 to defeat."

"The Fab Four of Asashoryu, Kaio, Chiyotaikai and upstart Asasekiryu hit all the right notes again on Wednesday to remain undefeated after Day 11 of the March Grand Sumo Tournament at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium.
The ranks of the unbeaten will be cut by at least one on Thursday, though as Asasekiryu faces Kaio in the day's penultimate fight.
Asashoryu stretched his remarkable winning streak to 26 when he dumped Komusubi Kakizoe.
In typical fashion, Asashoryu launched himself at his opponent at the start and had Kakizoe barreling back near the edge before Kakizoe sprang to life and muscled the yokozuna toward the center. Asashoryu responded by raising the power level another notch and trapped Kakizoe on the rope before flattening him. "

"It was an historic day at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium when Asashoryu and Asasekiryu became the first two wrestlers from the same stable to be unbeaten after 12 days of action.
The Mongolians have a chance to set up a weekend showdown for the title as Asasekiryu faces Chiyotaikai on Friday, while Asashoryu takes on Kaio.
Asashoryu put on a superb display of his lethal technical arsenal when he twisted Wakanosato into the clay to keep his slate clean.
Dominating the start of the fight, Asashoryu seemed set for an easy win before Wakanosato battled back and the two locked up in the center. With Wakanosato trapped high and unable to get a solid grip on the cloth, the yokozuna had the advantage and capitalized on his solid lead up work with a swift trip and a spin down."

"Yokozuna Asashoryu and Ozeki Chiyotaikai remain the two unbeaten leaders following wins Friday at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium, setting up a thrilling climax to the March Grand Sumo Tournament, one of the most thrilling tourneys in the ancient sport's history.
Asashoryu barely raised a sweat in moving to 13-0 and, cruelly for Kaio considering his outstanding performance throughout the tournament, left the ozeki with only the barest of chances of lifting the title."

"Yokozuna Asashoryu alone stands undefeated going into the final day of the March Grand Sumo Tournament after Kaio continued his dominance over fellow Ozeki Chiyotaikai to hand him his first defeat of the tourney.
Asashoryu finally gained the sole lead of the basho at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium by demolishing Musoyama, first slapping him down, then powering him to the edge of the dohyo, where he meekly surrendered.
He remains undefeated, but fellow Mongolian and stablemate Asasekiryu and Chiyotaikai with one loss apiece remain a mathematical chance at lifting the title."

"Awesome Asashoryu, the magnificent Mongolian, claimed the March Grand Sumo Tournament title at the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium on Sunday with a perfect 15-0 record, his second consecutive unbeaten tournament.
Asashoryu slapped down his closest rival, Ozeki Chiyotaikai, to pick up his 6th career title and 30th consecutive victory, equaling a mark set by former Yokozuna Takanohana, one of the sport's all-time greats.
Asashoryu's win came in one of the finest tournaments in the history of the sport, with four men remaining undefeated until the 12th day and the assault on the title by the yokozuna, clearly sumo's most dominate grappler, threatened until the very last bout of the tourney."
