The only WJJF I know of is an organisation in the UK. They were quite big about 20 years ago. Not long after the "Masters" turned out to be charlatans, and ran off with all the money. They are "Professor's" Clarke and Morris.
They give out official black belt certificates, signed by the head honcho in Japan. Unfortunately for them, one of their black belts went to Japan to train with him and, guess what? This guy had never heard of the WJJF.
I trained their system for about 12 months. It was poor. You learned all kinds of unworkable and complicated defences to the most unrealistic and telegraphed "attacks". Take away compliancy and none of it worked. None - Zero - Zilch.
Maybe the WJJF you're talking about is not the same as myself. But be careful. If it is, they are not to be invested in, with time, money nor effort.

Thai Bri ?
Thank you Thai Bri for your message you can read about the WJJF I’m talking about in the following link : http://members.aol.com/wjjf523/corpo...ile.index.html
Please tell me if this it the one you are talking about if so, please send me a web link or something with more information about the subject you’ve talked about because as you said they are not to be invested in, with time, money nor effort if it’s the same WJJF you were talking about.

Hi mate. This is the same organisation. Clarke is still there it seems (after a lay off due to the afore mentioned legal problems!) but Morris seems to have gone.
I don't have a web link. I trained there 18 years ago, and the trouble started for the a few years after that. There was no internet in those grand old days. I saw of their demise in a TV programme long after I'd left their silly style. So I have no actual evidence beyond my word.
The art in question relies MASSIVLEY on compliancy. Yes, when initially learning a technique, it is acceptable and useful for your training partner to let you get the feel of it. They can be compliant then. But the WJJF "progress" by merely making their techniques more complicated whilst the compliancy of the training partner remains the same. So, if someone ever attacks you with a ridiculously telegraphed punched, and then stands still with his arm out, you'll be ok. But if someone comes wading in? You'll get creamed.
Also they have this common, yet stupid, "if he does that, you do this" approach. Look at their books. They have countless responses to each and every attack. This is not going to happen in a real fight. You either react or lose. There is no way you can choose which technique you're going to do. Of course they will claim that extensive training makes this possible, but it doesn't. The relevant phenomenon is called "Hick's Law", and means that the more choices you have, the longer it takes to choose.
The best way to train is to find a small number of techniques that have a wide application. It is better to practice 10 techniques 10,000 times than 10,000 techniques only 10 times. Get the idea?
Whereabouts in the world are you? Somewhere in the UK? Let me know the district and I'll see if I can find you a better Jiu Jitsu type style. No pressure, its up to you. Like I said, it isn't just the style that can be criticised, it is the doubtful past of the "Professor".
Fond regards!
PS - the two guys who used to instruct me were nice guys. They were brothers who did their best to teach their students, however misguided they may have been. But I saw quite a few of WJJF black belts from other clubs, and they were a bunch of arrogant, bullying knobs.

Thai Bari
Dear Thai Bari, Thank you for the extra info. as for my self I'm from Kuwait and living there, The style I practice is KyokushinKai Karate and the Organization I'm with is IFK (International Federation of Karate http://www.ifk-kyokushin.com/) I've been practicing it for almost two years now so you can say I’m just a beginner, I go to UK at least once a year to join the IFK summer camp and to train in the Kyokushin Dojo's over there, so far I Think it's great.
The reason why I decided to train in Ju-Jitsu is because I want to add to my skill’s other then punching and kicking techniques (of course let’s not forget the self defense application that the Kata teaches you) how to fall on the ground and how to fight on the ground too so Ju-Jitsu was a good style to practice (I think). The reason why I joined WJJF is because the trainer is a friend of mine and I know that he teaches for the sake of teaching not for the sake of making money and giving out belts (which is a problem here in Kuwait) I told him about what you have said and he didn’t have any idea about it, and I don’t like to train with someone who I don’t know and don’t trust I think you know what I mean.
From your user name I think you Practice Muay Thai. I have so much respect for it I think it has the best kicking technices in all martial arts, Sosai (presedent) Oyama the man who founded KyokushinKai (http://www.masutatsuoyama.com/) used Muay Thai with other styles of martial arts technices to develop Kyokushin. I would love to know what you think about Kyokushin? And if you could tell me if Mauy Thai has any self defense application for example is someone grabbed you how would you UN break from that grab etc? I guess that’s all take care and hope to hear your answer soon.
OSU!

Hello,
For those members outside of the USA -
What is the status of the infiltration of the McDojo’s in your country?
In the USA we have so many different organization and hall of fames that are the malignancy of the McDojo’s CANCER THAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY GOODBYE TO THE MA AFTER 21 YEARS!
So how is it over there – hope it is better.

Our org has goverment recognition and maybe because of that there is very little McDojo overhere for a school to become a member it must have a certified instructor
The exams for teacher/instructor karate are done with a representative of the ministry/department of sport present
assistent teacher takes a year to a year and a half, teacher takes a year and a half to two years
To get some funding from local goverment you need to be certified
All this makes that we have no to little McDojos

This sort of Ju Jutsu - sorry - Ju Jitsu - is just funny, not related to Japanese unarmed systems at all.

IFKQ8O - I have traine Muay Thai, though not to any great standard. I call myself "Thai Bri" because Thai rhymes with Bri!
Kyukushinkai is one of the best versions of Karate on offer. Yes, I would recommend it being mixed with a grappling art, but Judo or Brasillian Jiu Jitsu are more "real" in their training.
Chris here (Chris Davies above) knows alot more about traditional styles than me. If he agrees with me then I MUST be right!
