dank u everryvon
dank u 4 infu abut nojus.
Where did you get the idea that they were muggers and thieves? I read Stephen Hayes's ninja book(too lazy to look up the name of it) and in the book he explains ninjas are much like they are pictured in the movies. Of corse not all of them, but the ones that were trained very well were. Hollywood had to get their Ideas for their movies from somewhere, and they got it from the best of the best of ninjas.
P.S. I'm DEFIANT NINJA not Deviant Ninja
P.S.S. cool
P.S.S.S. who's Hatsumi sensei? Where is he? is he in Japan? is he a ninjustu teacher? What?
P.S.S.S.S. I WINNN!

Furthermore, hurry. He is an old man and it is a well known fact that after he dies the future of ninjitsu is not looking too good. He has not chosen a sucessor and it appears that the nine aspects of the bunjikan dojo (which is his branch of ninjitsu) will be given to nine different people. Furthermore, there are aspects of those nine which have not even been taught to anyone, so will probably be lost.
Worst though, is that no one else of his probable successors will continue to allow the west to learn "Japanese" ninjitsu. What we will see then, is the emergance of "American" ninjitsu, "English" ninjitsu, etc. This could turn into the many off shoots that we see in teh karate world. That is one thing that we as ninjitsu students enjoy, relative solidarity.

You know, I wonder if, technically, with a bullet-proof sword, if like a future android could block gunfire from a person; I mean, we have robots that can walk bipedal right now, some can run sort of even, and others can juggle.
Now in like video games such as Metal Gear Solid, and Ninja Gaiden (Xbox), the ninjas in those games both can block bullets fired at them, at least from a single person. They are are, of course, "fantasy-style" ninja. Actually, the ninja in Metal Gear Solid is supposed to be a former special-forces guy who was genetically-enhanced and given some speical body-suit and all that, blah blah.....anyways.
So I mean I wonder, if like an android that had visual capabilities far more sophisticated than any human, if holding a special sword that could withstand the gunfire, if the android could then hold the sword up and block gunfire you shot at it, sort of like how Jedi in the Star Wars movies block laser shots.
I know it sounds far-fetched, but technically, if you have an android that can compute how to line up the sword with the line-of-fire from the gun the second one aims the gun at it, and then you have a sword that could actually withstand the gunfire and not break, I wonder if we could like create like a "ninja android" that could block gunshots??
Not that such a thing would really have any application, unless they would ahve android police officers or something, but still, it would be neat to build something like that.
And don't ask me where that came from, but this is an ninja thread, and it just popped into my head, so there

I can see where you are coming from, please allow me to think critically on this.
The application would be in celebrities purchasing one or more of these androids as body guards or enhancing their existing security. However, in place of programming the reflexes needed for such a feat, why not have androids that would carry collapsable spring-loaded shields? Sensing an attack, they could release these body- sized shields and offer themselves and the shield as protection, thus not indangering those around the celebrity by frantically whipping around a sword and probably injuring those around them.
