  • Nepali martial art or just a ripoff of karate?

check this out. this website claims to have an art called budokai-do which is actually a nepali martial art and not even influenced by any other art because the guy just did street fighting in the old days before movies were big. Anyway just read the history of the art. Its hard to believe.

      oyama

i think that oyama story about his 1 punch kill was made up for sure.at this time oyama was lookin for publicity and that makes a great story.why else would you fight sick and slow bulls. i guarantee oyama wouldve gotten killed against a healthy strong bull. he gave up fighting bulls because he took a horn throught the lung. oyama was a proffecient street fighter . i have a lot of respect for oyama but only in the sense that he excelled in karate. karate would be tough in the street against a skilled street fighter.although 100 man kumites is really impressive and if your gonna study any karate then i would suggest kyokushin or wado . kyokushin being the most brutal and wado being the fastest and most effecient.but if you want to learn in the street then go with boxing, trapping and JKD supplemented with your karate training. oyama was def one in a billion. OSU!!!

Dangit dont ruin my thread!!! This is about BUDOKAI-DO the so called Nepali martial art!!

I want people to read the main website of the art and read its history and look around and tell me what they think about it! I think its a mcdojo style if you ask me. It seems to just be kyokoshin karate with a fake name and fake claims for it being an original martial art. What do you all karate experts think???? PLease help me.

With reason. They don't speak Japanese in Nepal. They speak Nepalese so I doubt that they would label their martial arts with Japanese terminology. If they used ANY language other than Nepalese for their martial art it would likely be:

1: An indian language past or present.
2: Tibetan or another regional language.
              3: Chinese at the OUTSIDE.

Remember the distance between Nepal and Japan is about as great as that between New York and Seattle.
