not to mention the rather time consuming booby traps that were rigged while being chased...guess its a good thing tommy lee jones stopped to make a knife along the way. You get what you pay for ...they paid Tom Brown for his knowledge (Talk about 2 Cents worth) and it showed in the moronic movie.
How the hell that moron gets by with his crap is beyond me...he is as bad as the martial art bullshitters who claim mysterious lineage (Brown claims he was taught by an mysterious Indian guide). oh and my favorite of his tales...he was hired to track down a renegade Navy SEAL ...tom claims to have tracked him and get this...stolen all the seals gear...one piece a night while the seal was asleep until the seal was so terrorized and demoralized he gave up to tom ....NAKED. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Maybe thatll be his next movie....
...it was essentially "The Fugitive" ...with knives.

          Swordplay.

There are very few of movies involving good swordplay. Here's my list.

Zatoichi: The Blind Samurai & Duel to the Death

U got it all wrong man half of the films u put down there aint even proper martial arts films..The Last Samuri iis probably the only real martial arts film there..kill bill is crap 1/2/troy is sword fighting same with king arthur n julius cesair.flying daggers is a martial arts film il give u that the gladiator isn't and samuri ressurection is so u need to watch more martial arts films man.. like best of the best/kickboxer/no retreat no surrender/the quest all of the classics then look at the new ones and tell me which are real martial arts films.

                  Ultimate Fighter; Grappler Baki.

That's some wild and ka-razy shit.

Fist of the Northstar, the series.

                  Berzerk...also fun.

and there's this one scene in that new "red eye" movie. (no asshole jokes, please)...where the guy headbutts the girl out of nowhere. I laughed so hard when I saw that shit I was all like "Damn....'Why you make me do that, Bitch?!'"

Sonny Chiba "Champion of Death" or the "Street Fighter" trilogy.
also....Jet Li's "Black Mask"....stay the HELL away from the sequel though...stinks of decaying hobo rectum.

Also european sword fighting is also a martial art so is gladiator style fighting. Every way of fighting is a martial art. but just because a movie has some swords does not make it a martial arts movie.

If you look closely you can see modern day techniques is sword movies. For instance Russell Crowe does a beautiful Ko Soto Gari in one of his gladiatior fight scenes. In Troy, Achillies , does beautiful Jumping techniques that would remind you of modern tae kwon do. In the Last Samauri, there are several sweeps and back to the Gladiatior, I believe Russell Crowe does a beautiful roundhouse kick, right in the middle of a sword fighting scene.

I have the Original Fist of the NorthStar, and the new series. If anyone here ever purchases this dvd, view the section where their staff does interviews with various martial art schools.
