I think it would largely depend on the individual's abilities and not the respective arts.

Size, speed, aggression, timing will be the dominant traits.

How many cousins? You might beat one or two but if they work together you're toast...

I used to compete in open tourneys before MMA. When you had to stop once your opponent got knocked down or staggered, turn around and kneal until the ref made sure he could continue (hey, don't laugh that's all we had).

Shotokan fighters were like freight trains, cause they tried to crash into you. They didn't waste any time and were very aggressive, linear type fighters. They train to harden their bodies and try to focus all of their power into one blow that does maximum damage on impact. They stuck to the basics; front snap kick, round house kick, lunge punch and reverse punch. They could also pull of pretty good sweeps.

Kempo fighters are the exact opposite of shotokan fighters. They work on developing quick/circular power, flowing and striking from angles, with lightning quick hands. They prefer infighting and would be all over you if you missed.

All of the Kenpo people I've sparred/fought did pretty okay. They're fast with their hands like a TKD guy is fast with their legs. They knew how to lunge pretty good and I had to adapt and be a little more defensive and bait them in so that I could get counters in. But having good footwork and defensive reflexes are good. Lock one arm/hand etc or just keep kicking it and it's pretty much over for them.

Becareful if they have good footwork though, all the Shotokan dudes I've fought have horrible footwork, and a few side-steps here and there allowed me to easily overtake those freight trains of a person.

I would say it is going to depend on what style of kempo your cousins are taking. Some Okinawan karate kempo styles are very closely related to shotokan. One of the major differences is that shotokan pratices deeper, more committed stances.

                  Agreed,
there are many different styles of Kempo/Kenpo and I'm sorry to say, even more politics between them.
                  Styles of Ke(n/m)po:
American Kenpo, Kosho-Ryu Kempo, Kara-Ho Kenpo, Tracy's (Chinese) Kenpo, Shaloin Kempo, Nick Cerio's Kenpo, Kajukenbo, White Tiger Kenpo, Lima Lama, Nippon Kempo, Okinawian Kempo, Raven Kenpo Jujitsu, Kiyojute Ryu Kempo Bugei, Yoshin Kempo, Sam-Pai Kenpo, Ken-Sho Ryu, Ten-Chi Kenpo, Kindai Inazuma Ryu Kenpo, Goshin-Ryu Kempo, Tenshin Ko Ryu, Shinden Fudo Ryu Kenpo, etc.... (The list goes on and on)
                  NOTE:
In the end it all comes down to how well the individual can apply the principles a style is based on.

If the Japanese Kempo is SShorinji Kempo the difference is huge
Shotokan in my eyes ( as a Karateka) is one of the most rigid styles I know
Shorinji Kempo is like karate at all, the punches differ, they use wristlocks but also learn how to jump out of those, it has pressure pointstrikes and their kumite forms aren't pre arranged as in Karate but are pre-arranged by the pair itself but should contain a number of attacks and counter attacks and rests
So it would look like a couple of karate kumite stitched together but with fluid motions

If you are using eMule or eDonkey, that network has multiple clips and demonstration videos available

If you could find the strength to type "Japanese" that would be great. I know those extra five letters are exhausting but you can do it!
