My friend says that Bunjikan Ninj. is better than anything else as far as "real" self defense. Is this true, is there any other form that stands up to this? It is about life and death and is real is what he says, is anything better, similar, etc. Like if bruce lee were to fight a Ninj. master would he die quick??

Pretty much anybody whose really passionate about their art is gonna say its better than everything else. Dosent mean its true. Different arts for different folks. There is no 1 supreme art.
I sat in on a closed door training session for Bujinkan blackbelts by Soke Hatsumi here in Japan and wasn't really impressed at all. Lots of tellegraphed unrealistic attacks and no resistance from the aggressor at all while the defender did a multiple move combo of so called "deadly" attacks. All the while they critisized other MArts, carrying on about how superior they were. A bunch of dreamers if you ask me.
That dosent mean the whole Bujinkan style is crap though. Every art has good and bad dojos.

Weird. I had a private session with a Bujinkan blackbelt, and there was definitely resistance, and in fact she would get extremely frustrated if I didn't resist ENOUGH.
I agree there is no one supreme art, but what I liked about ninjutsu/budo taijutsu (from the little I've seen) is that it focused on proper body mechanics, relying on skill instead of strength or speed.
It's really easy to say your art is the best, it's also very easy to write off an entire art with lots of history because of one experience...
