Although kicking is probably the best way to utilize your kicking power, using low stances does help develop muscle and muscle endurance. I believe using a combination of both will give you better, well rounded results.

Oh, I'm sure it has some use... Like if you were waiting at the mall all day while your girlfriend did her shopping. But my response, if you knew how to read, was in regards to developing kicking power. Holding a static stance doesn't develop kicking power. You develop kicking power by simply, would you believe it, "kicking."
I'm sorry, I guess I should have elaborated. I should have pointed out more clearly that I was refering to the part of your message, where you brushed this guy's training technique off as useless. If it develops your muscles, control, center, breathing, then it seems obvious to me that it can improve your fighting ability. And if it improves your fighting ability then it improves your kicks. As effectively as throwing kicks? probably not...but it is by no means useless, in any regard.

12-14 minutes in a proper horse stance isnt a superman feat...if you think it is you havent pushed yourself during static posture training yes you have to work on it daily, and increase time held gradually but 12-14 minutes certainly isnt unbelievable.
i will grant you wont find that kind of dedication often, but it definatly exists.
good work gong fu
thank you boarspear,

i see ignorance from people, and i wasnt actually aware watered down meant what you stated, i thought it just meant how i used it previously,
but whats with all of the BS insults and shit like that? and when have i claimed to be able to beat everyone here?, i dont know if i can beat someone untill i fight them, i dont care if im weaker or stronger than anyone here, im just a student liek the rest of you, so just kick back and chill your asses please,

Hey dude, think of it like this, most people invest their ego in their MA choice, you see the same attitude in religions. People HAVE to believe the thing they practice is the best, thats why they practice it its easier to make fun of other peoples choices than to admit you dont have enough experience to comment intelligently on the subject. TMA's have been around for thousands of years, yet MMA people feel they have invalidated All those arts had to offer because of the sporting applications developed for competition.
Many of the people you argue with, tell you they will fight differently than they train when in a real fight....keep that in mind when reading their comments.
Nipples have been around on men for millions of years. Still doesn't make them useful.
So, your statement is 'proof' of nothing. Had you the slightest hint of logic you would have known this.
Why do people feel the need to fish around for justifications for TMA so desperately? Just eliminate the cartoonishly exaggerrated claims and it will all take care of itself.

Hey man, I wasn't trying to be an asshole (that just comes naturally for me ) I just started asking questions because I know how hard the stances are to do properly. A 12 minute horse is a huge accomplishment, like running the mile in less than 5 minutes. Sure it can be done, but not by many people. If you really do have an everlasting horse and a cat stance that defies gravity than your forms must look breath-taking and your legs must be incredibly strong. I think that's awesome becuase obviously there aren't many people on here that take stance work seriously. Personally though, I have this crazy idea that the reason people kept using these training techniques long enough for them to be called "traditional" is that they've been producing outstanding fighters for one generation after another.

Thank you, I believe you hit the nail on the head.
