I want to know how are the judo tournments are like. Are they full contect fighting, point fighting or just get points when pinning someone?

Havent competed for a long time, and wasnt at a high level when i was. Bear that in mind. I remember that pinning someone effetively for long enough could win the fight for you, but it always started on your feet. The harder/better you throw other bloke the more points you get. One particularly good throw will end it, one good and one medicore will end it, and so on. 4 poor throws also won i think.
If theres any form of prefight conditioning i missed out on it, or possibly this only exists at much higher levels than i was at. Seem to remember it being fun, but nothing life changing. I was crap at it tho.

    Peace

        a quick version would be:
a throw that is 1) fast 2) controlled 3) hard and 4)lands the opponent "largely on the back" ends the match immediately (it's called ippon)

a throw that lacks one of those 4 elements get's 3/4s of a point, if it lacks 2 it get's half and if it lacks 3 it get's 1/4.

a pin of 25 seconds ends the match. points are awarded for pins that last longer than 10 seconds.

if one judoka submits verbally or by tapping due to choke, strangulation, or joint lock (only the arm can be locked) then the match is over.

those are the basics, there are penalties and other sublties though
