There is a lot you can learn from video and books (books will probably give you more detail). But to really learn judo you need to be in a dojo if its possible. If that is not possible don't get caught up in "resisting oponents" the first part is to properly learn the technique if not you can seriously get hurt especially if you are not using mats. If you don't have judo or JJJ/BJJ background you need to learn to fall first, not throw, whether you are tori or uke.
