Well... I will. What was left of the mainstream Jujutsu after 1882 became known as Judo. There are a (VERY) small handful of obscure traditional Ruyha that may claim lineage to PRE WAR jujutsu but they teach primaily ATEMI and a few basic throws along with traditional weapons.
There has been no "MARTIAL" art from Japan since the 1940's so those who claim anything after that are usually full of it...

I would disagree on this to a degree. I have had some exposure to a few koryu juju ryuha and I have seen (and received) a significant number of takedowns in them.

The more a particular Ryu emphasizes THROWING the closer it is to Kodokan judo...
There are more than 65 recognized throws in the Kodokan syllabus.

Doing kata on peoples' graves is not polite so I will keep it short. I am saying Mr Penland's swordsmanship wasn't legit. He & Mr Alexander made DVDs of stuff that was made up. I'm sure Tant01 will fill you in on his side of things.

To be perfectly honest I never trained with Penland and I know next to nothing about his Jujutsu.
Lets just say I'm (VERY) skeptical of any system that offers black belt video courses...
