  • How Do You View Machida?

When you look at Machida what do you think would be the best approach for other mma fighters to take to give him a more difficult fight? Will it take another mma fighter with a Karate background to beat him?

I think it is funny that when bjj was new and winning, it was the style that won but now a karate guy wins and it is the man who won...

No one knew how to deal with bjj for so long, maybe it will be the same for him and someone will get his number.

Machida is certainly a greatly skilled fighter. He seems to understand what he has to do and how to use the tools that he has.

He is an MMA fighter. When he meets a better one he will lose. Until then he will win. No great mystery.

Machida is a gifted fighter and that makes him dangerous. However, I don't believe other fighters need to learn karate per se... I think they should study how it works. More importantly, they should study Machida's fights.

However, defeating Machida is easier said than done, because he has a very good skill set. My guess is he will be like other great champions; remain top dog until his skills deplete and someone steps up to take his place a la Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, etc...

I concur. Machida could be defeated, but it won't be easy.
