I have been looking for a martial art that isn't karate or taekwondo because I just feel like they are really bland art forms since most places teach them, but there isn't much available in my area. However, there is a place nearby that teaches something called Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. Can someone tell me what the primary focuses of this are? Like striking, grappling, ground work.. etc. Also, if you are familiar with this art, can you tell me if its an actual practical art or if its a slow art like taijiquan. Thanks!

I JUST came here and saw this post, and had to create an account to reply! I trained in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu for mearly a year before leaving my school for job reasons. I currently train in Hanbojutsu and Tai Chi Chuan, and was inspired to use hanbo after my teachings in this style. The actual style of ''Taijutsu'' is actually unarmed combat, but during training, you learn many other weapons. ''Disciples'' of Ninjutsu were required to learn all the weapons of the Samurai, which meant Katana, Wakazashi, Naginata, Bo, Jo, Hanbo, and SO many others.

The style has evolved from that traditional purpose to street/urban self defense. Taijutsu isnt flashy or pretty, but its most likely the most deadly, in my opinion. Anatomy plays a huge role in strikes and submission, like other styles, but Ninjutsu Anatomists aim to kill or severely injure opponents. Simply put, it is meant to get you home safely, and is a VERY street/urban worthy practice.

This is exactly why I stopped posting here weeks ago. All this place consists of is people really wanting to share knowledge, and the moment they do, people like you show up and criticize the stupid little shit that doesnt matter! So what if my opinion is that it is most likely the most deadly, was I trying to engrave it on your front door?! Was I trying to have it etched into some national landmark!?


This person wanted knowledge and opinion, and I gave it. You did not however. All you presented was a bash on my opinion, without anything to say other than ''you must be smoking something''. Wheres your professional advice behind your criticism?
