squatting your own bodyweight is actually pretty good for a normal person, but if you're talking for a bodybuilder its not a lot.

hahaha Thai Bri,
your comment at the end was hilarious. I'm going to have to go with Jubaji on this, do you live in Weakville? For people who are overweight yes squatting your own weight is going to be hard. Same goes for the extremely skinny guy but, the average person shouldn't have trouble squatting their own weight because there aren't any weight irregularities. I'm of average weight and the first day I started lifting in high school I could squat my own weight. I couldn't BENCH my own weight like many others in my class.
Damnit, I forgot to talk about Bruce. Anyways Bruce was pretty damn skinny but any weight he had was almost pure muscle. Also the pictures where he's seen extremely skinny you should know that he was sick and not eating right during that time. Because you'll notice those pictures are during the filming of Enter the Dragon. Which was a stressful time for Bruce because it was his first american movie.

B) Why would you want to look like Bruce anyway? He had pencil legs and couldn't squat his own bodyweight.

C) Yes, you could look like Bruce if you have a good answer to B. Its not that hard, his muscular development was not really spectacular beyond his fairly impressive lats. Besides the lack of leg development, he also lacked much of a chest. So you could actually look better than Bruce if you ate right and trained right.

D) There has been some speculation, or perhaps more than speculation, by some Bruce biographers that Bruce used 'roids at least to some degree. Given his training routine, this makes some sense--you could overtrain easily doing what Bruce did if you weren't taking anabolic supplements. If you're willing to go this route, then, yes, your ectomorph genetics aside, you can bulk up.

E) I must ask again, why Bruce? Bruce's goal wasn't necessarily physique development--he simply did not get the muscular development attained by serious bodybuilders. He had the physique you'd expect of a lean guy who worked out as seriously as him. He was cut up, not big.
But to answer your question. It’s not unusual for people to admire physical attributes, especially when you tie some sort of athletic prowess. As I’ve stated time and again, by today’s standards Bruce Lee’s physique is similar to light-weight boxers. Boxers, at the least the ones I’ve trained with, are lean, yet pack some power. Some of them employ weight training, but use very low weights with explosive reps the same way Bruce Lee trained. Ask them about Bruce Lee and most of the time, they’ll say he had great physique.

Bruce Lee had a better physique than the average man yesterday and today. He was well-defined, sleek and lean.

Sounds like you and your 'boys' are getting all worked up...

I don't understand people who follow the Gracie diet or copy Bruce lee's workout. These diets/workouts were devised with the information that was available during that time. Sports science and nutrition has developed by leaps and bounds so why would you do something that Bruce lee woun't do? Rely on outdated information?
