Arguing about these kinds of things is what's stupid...
I can't comment on Drew's "Quelling" as I've never seen it.
1. If attacking eyes continuosly in close ranges is trained with 100% resistance from your opponent, you'll learn to pull it off against fully resistant people. Period.
2. These tactics need proper delivery systems behind them. That means you're going to have to know how to shrimp and elevator someone and have a strong groundfighting background in order to get him into good position for these types of tactics.
If you're standing up you have to have a strong background in clinching skills from Muay Thai and Greco Roman to move the person into position to continuously do these tactics without them being able to do anything about it.
3. Anyone who thinks "eye gouging" alone can save them from a wrestler is in for a rude awakening...
4. Anyone who thinks all "eye gouging" tactics are based on unrealistic training, and can't ever be sparred at full contact.....is also in for a rude awakening.
I guess that's all I have to say on the subject.
But, I'm sure the "drama" will continue

Because the eyes are a smaller target, it is a good idea to set an anchor on the guy to keep him from moving as much when jabing. Such as a grab with your left or right hand around his neck, while the other hand is busy tearing into his eyes. To set this up, you will most likely need to slam into him hard with a shock movement. I call this mazing. The idea is to leave him confused if not out cold. A hard upper palm strike to the chin is a good shock.

How cool is that? I have made up a bunch of bullshit jargon to make it easier for me to sell tie-in merchandize...I mean to teach you all my deadly secrets. Oh yeah, I've taught this devastating new system to the command of the Maryland State Police Region III CAT Team (High-Risk Operations Unit), the SEALS, CIA, FBI, IRS, SPCA, and morning musume so you know it must be as deadly and devastating as I say. Don't be a pussy, call now!"

The sad reality is that a lot of successful eye attacks are sometimes done with weapons. Improvised weapons like brooms and sticks. And also liquid solvents like Bleach and lye. {Tales from the Joint}

???
For what it's worth, it just seems to be a rehashing of techniques that have already been introduced to the public and packaged in such a way to take advantage of peoples insecurities! If there was something completely new and different that sets this apart, please point that part of it out.
And jubaji- please copywrite your mock magazine post (#38) before I steal it for my "When house pets turn hostile" tape series, what you don't know may kill you!
