Drew, people who've seen me around on the net a while know my "real identity". And it isn't Peter Parker...... But, being in the cops, I do not think it wise to put it about too much. I mean the identity.......

Now remember that PM of peace you sent me before you slate me again. Or I'll turn my attention back to the snivelling way you tried to rip Franco off.

I do hope you get the message.

Having seen this pablum puked so many times, I can't walk away anymore.

"Someone should also point out that when two pro boxers get into a real fight it looks nothing like boxing anymore either and all their fine motor skills seem to disapear. It looks more like a school yard brawl with clinching and wild swinging"

Somebody should point out to those that use this arguement, THIS IS STAGED!

Tyson v Lennox at the press conference...., STAGED

Ali v Frazier, ummm, not this, AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE.....hmmmm, maybe staged?!

The Canadien Court House scuffle, on the steps, in front of the PRESS....., things that make you go, HMMMM.

Using that logic, Professional Rasslin' is the way to go because when those guys step out the ring and step it off, during interviews, backstage or in the street....., it always looks just like the stuff they do in the ring.

Yeah, lets go with Pro Rasslin'.

Now, lets see the tape of Tyson fighting Green outside the laundry mat in the Bronx.

Oh yeah, no press, just Tyson's busted hand and Green's concussion.

        HMMMMM......

Or Larry Holmes scrap that occurred in Vegas, the one where he ran over the top of the car, tackled the guy and did an awesome version of ground and pound.

Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program.

Don't mind Phil there Spanky, he's still recovering from the time a homeless guy asked him for spare change.

Really though, guys like Vunak, Franco and anybody else selling a "real world street fighting" system should really watch what they put forward when hawking them, some people actually might believe them. It's no accident that they try to link themselves with elite warriors and atheletes. After all it's what their audience wants. It's also largely an audience that likes secretive techniques and theories over just training hard. Are there any secrets in BJJ? Did Vunak, Franco or anybody get to their skill level by doing RAT or Shredder or calling themselves "War Machine"? The best secret to becoming better at streetfighting, sports or anything is just plain hard work in the basics.

              I think that's a bit unfair.

Vunak for one has never said you can learn to be a good fighter without having to train hard at it.

The "super dooper streetfighter series" etc. was advertised by TRS for the most part.
He personally didn't like how they did it, but couldn't do much about it besides publish a letter a few years back claiming that they were over-exaggerating his skills and the art.

                True enough.

And my post, which only addresses one point which that side of the industry attempts to put forth, ie; the boxer/insert whatever sport suits your fancy, can't fight in the "street" because in some way, knocking someone face down in the dirt is more difficult in the "street" than doing that in a ring/cage.

It reminds me of something a friend said to me, "you know how this guy keeps saying that no one that came back from WWII ever said the combatives let them down?...., well, what about the guy's that didn't come back, what failed them?"

Which also alludes to a much bigger issue, the weird need to be told what works and what does not, without critical thought. What never ceases to amaze me is, people continue to accept, without question, these theories/stories, as true.

Wasn't referring to the TRS copy Ryu, but how many tapes has Vunak done for them? I find it hard to believe that he didn't know about their marketing methods. I've met several of the talent that did videos for TRS, as one put it be "careful what you say around them as it will end up in an ad".

Well, I can only say for sure that he did address the issue in a letter published in the more predominant MA mags out there. In it he downplayed the marketing ads.

I don't know for sure how it works, mind you.
                    Since I'm producing no videos!

We can always work up a nice bio for you Ryu. So how many real life ninjas did you defeat in that prison riot while working deep cover for the DEA?

                        ...

Spoken like a true sport fighter Paul. Nuff said.

Ryan to answer your question why I'm on Franco's case is because I was treated the same way as Bri Thai was when asking a simple question on his forum.

Drew howe, there's something called common courtesy. If he doesn't want to answer questions then why have a forum? Its either there to answer fucking questions or to have your fans kiss your ass and sing your praises so others can see it and want to buy your materials too. If it is the first, he's doing a lousy fucking job. If it is the second then he is accomplishing what he wants but it won't last long because he's lost many potential customers due to the holier than thou attitude. He's begining to remind me of another rbsd guy, tony blauer, same fucking holier than thou attitude.

well we all know I am quite involved with both the Japanese and Chinese community.
My top secret "black bag" spec ops tactics has allowed me to bull over even the toughest and meanest of Asia's violent underworld!

But you've got to buy now, because both the yakuza and triad alike don't want these life-saving secrets to get out!
If it does it might very well spell the END of their organizations! Period!!

(I can do better than that LOL, but it's late, and my "BSing" skills aren't up to par when I'm tired )

Man, I love WW2 Combatives. But I sure can't argue with your logic! Haw haw haw!

By the way, fight fans, Drew Howe sent me a snivveling "please be nice to me" private message when I was slating him on the "Drew Howe" thread. He's now "deleted" it. Looks like the battle lines are drawn........ I rather think he sees this as an opportunity to get "in" with Franco.

Whats up Drew? Do you want to be affiliated with Francos "Windowcleaner" programme too?

                              Actually,

its spoken as a guy that has worked as a street cop for the last 7 years, and as an entry team member for the last 5.

At this moment I'm chillin' while waiting for the return on 2 warrants we just served.

So the correct would be, spoken as a guy that has actually had to fight for his life several times.
