Far too many people hold up Bruce as a god. Bruce was never perfect, but I judge him on what he has done for the martial arts and how he literally brought it out of the dark ages and exposed many of its myths.

Is he the most superior athlete and martial artist? Hell No! Is he the best fighter ever? Again, oh hell no. But that fact does not diminish in any way what he has done for Martial arts.

Good article though as far as it's scientific points of view.

Also I like the article some of the data the author used to compare is from 1965, so not to BL's peak performance...

I've seen that article several times before. It can't be acurate comparing "1960's" training methods to "modern" training methods.

A 7 & 1/2 minute mile is not slow at all considering he ran a lot of miles and his leg strenth compared to the 'bodybuilding of the "60's and the fact that he did not lift for a lot of years or have the "technology" that we have, Bruce was doing pretty good.

I'm not saying that Bruce was or was not the best. I'm saying that Bruce was not a track runner or a bodybuider. But even if he was, we still could not compare todays runners and bodybuilders with those of that time. It doesn't equate.

How could he have below average strenth for that time??

I think we should take a look and see just what a "SMAC" is and why he chooses to write more than one article on Bruce. Could there be a profit in it?
