I was training hard at an IPT,we were running from attacker to attacker doing knife or RAT or whatever my instructor called out,I felt like something had hit me in the left calf. When I tried to get up it was like there was no leg under me! I was in great pain, but didn't realize what was wrong! Of course,I had booked the IPT well in advance, dreamed about this my whole life, plus it was only halfway through the second of three days! I just continued the best I could, and told everyone I would be okay! I actually worked for two days after that until it got so bat I went to the doc. I had reattachment surgery in late feb,I am still on crutches and I doubt I'll stand without them until June.

I do Hubbud and some solo stick things seated. Reading this post has helped me re-evaluate my training and today I started practicing some WC and Sil Lim Tao. This may permanently change my structure,so I am very interested in learning ways that require less mobility!

I probably won't see my Sifu 'till '06,as I'm recovering from a (completely,as in severed) torn achilles tendon! It's a 5 hour drive as it is...

Does anyone do Sil Lim Tao?
        Don
I can't say I've done any Sil Lim Tao.
But as far as trapping videos, the ones I can recommend come from warriors way.
        Here's the site

It would be even better if you asked Sifu Harley yourself. He posts on the boards almost daily

I've never really thought much about the grip. I was taught that it's a combination of pressure and technique. For any traps, you're not so much "holding" the arms(head, legs, whatever) but removing a barrier. Trapping also reduces your opponents reaction time, allowing you to strike. I think forearm strength is a factor. I don't do any specific exercises,i have a manual labor job! I think forearm curls, ball squeezing,(tennis balls you pervs!),wooden dummy and partner training would develope your skills. Partner training especially.

Come to think of it,I think in Lop Sao the hand is shaped like a "C"... Does that help?
