Yes.
Bruce fought an amateur boxing match and won by either decision or TKO. Google it - the guy who reffed the match was a priest who coached an amateur young mens boxing league.
Bruce vs. Wong Jack Man.
Bruce vs Challengers on the sets of his movies.
Did Bruce ever fight as a professional? No. Who cares?
He created a really good fighting system that people can use. Does this system dominate in MMA? No. Has it been proven in MMA? Yes. Has it been proven in the street?
You'll have to ask fellows like Inosanto, Burton or Vu...

If Bruce Lee never fought in a professional fight then how do know Bruce was half as tough as people make him out to be..... Street fights mean nothing unless you beat a guy on your fighting level or over...... Hell if I want to I could go out and beat 10 guys in one nite, but would that make me any tougher.... No..

What you miss in your understanding Is the person in any art is what counts. JKD has a structure of tools based on what Bruce saw and developed THen taught. Bruce WAS very good. Things were much different back then. NO full contact fights as today has. Only street fights. He had some. He did not do point fighting. But contact training With different students and such. I am sure he could hold his own within his limit. No body is ever the best. He never thought he was either. People today want to say he was. That do not understand what JKD or the M/A is all about. And yes you can find some body each night to beat up. BUT can you fight some one who can fight back. AND still win. Treads like this take away from the forum and seem on a small level. Who can you beat. who have you beat. Whats it going to do to make you better. And a better person. Fighting is because you have to do it. Then you do. Ring fighting is training to fight most often a set person. studying ther game traing to out do them that night in the ring. ITs tough not easy. If UFc pride K1 had of been around 40 years ago. Bruce may have very well been thre in the ring. BUT it was not. And never base what some one else did or can do. Just look at what you do. The only thing to matter is but you the person. Think on it. Perhaps post and threads like this Might just go away.

I admire your apparent desire to be iconoclastic, and perhaps Lee himself would approve. However, you might consider the possibility that maybe somewhere in Lee's material (or his students' material!)
is a technique, a feint, a drill, an exercise, a theory, or
a strategy point that may be useful to you as a fighter. If so, you are denying yourself an improvement of your game merely because you wish to oppose someone. Is it rational to deny yourself a piece of the truth simply because you want to oppose people or argue against a certain school of thought?

Bruce Lee was a talented martial artist. Not the world's best, but he had alot of value to offer from this JKD system. The point of the JKD system as I understand it is to improve your fighting. His philosophical view points were also interesting too.
Bruce was lightning quick, had cat like reflexes, trained alot and sparred alot too. He never competed as a professional fighter. So what. It doesn't take away the value of his system.
His JKD system however has been used by many and is still being used today because of its approach. Some pro-fighters have gone to JKD guys to tune up different ranges.
Just curious why are you so belligerent?
