And yes I am very ticked off. Cause I know a guy who just LLOOVVESS JKD so much that he never shuts the hell up about it... I'm just freaken sick and tired of hearing how damn tough Bruce..
You mean, you have a roommate who watches Bruce Lee films 24/7?
LOL...I feel for you. Let it ride, man. Get some fresh air or just stay away from the guy.
Well, all I hear about JKD is how awsome it is, How tough bruce lee is was, and all that other crap.... I'm just just fu***** sick of it... I just asked for one freaking video of him fighting. And you people can't even dig that up.. But yet I hear stories of how Bruce could take Royce Gracie, Frank Shamrock, etc..... And that ticks me off. Hell I've even heard that Ali challenged Bruce to a fight and that Bruce turned it down...

People have fun speculating, that's it. They like to see the possibilities, even though they may never happen.
I'll take your advice Tom Yum and just try to stay the hell away from him. I swear to you man I've came so close to just beating the guy senseless. All he fu***** does is talk and just hearing him talk ticks me off...
The article On Bruce. Suggests negetive thoughts. But look at the other side. The average real good street fighter. Has little to no being in shape to fight very long at all. Drinks plenty of beer. Perhaps drugs. Probably does not lift any weights at all. Does not run or jog. And when they get in a fight they end it fast. work out weight jogging Is not based on fighting . Sure today some try to put on mass to handle ground fighting. And methods have progressed. When you look at Bruce as a man. You do not put him on a tower that no one can topple. You look at the methods he brought to peoples attention. Train it if you want. Find your needs and go on from there. NO style way or method has the all true answers. The person is that. And you will be surprised. I have met several of the younger groups that do not know Of Bruce. So just like past people he is fading. But the art is still being discoverd. Tierd of hering from a room mate about Bruce. Tell the room mate. How you feel. And yes Bruce was a liitle cocky. But many people are. No I do not know of or think Bruce thought he could beat Ali. He learned so much from watching Ali box. And trained that line of boxing method. to include it in His JKD format. I think he respected Ali. I do. He was a great boxer. But some think differnt there to. And yes to date. The fight seens of Bruces movies were some of the best ever on film. He could get that angle to give life to them. But they were prearnged And not real. But good to see. And yes in other countries there was some contact fights. HE was in America there was not At the time. Rather to run him down. Just if you want learn from his method or not. Believe your truth. Man is but a man No man is a giant. I will respect him. I will and have learn from what he taught. And I will be just what I am. Bruce was Bruce and that is all he was. What he could do he did. What we all do we do. Maybe some day You will be put on top by people And soon be able to be the best of the best. At least in someones eyes. Not such a bad thing perhaps. Legends are made that way.Bruce rather like it or not has become one. But not by the people who new him. But the ones who are wanting to be as good or hope to be. Then they find out ITS alot of work to train and train. A few get there and alot stop training. Talk does not get the job done training does

I'm guessing that for you "came so close" means you thought about it, got scared, and did nothing. Then you came here to vent your juvenile impotent rage.

Have you considered counseling, free?
Sounds like you have some really deep seated anger issues....or rent anger management starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler.
And peopleschamp, if you don't got anything to add to this discussion then don't post you damn moron..... *sigh* little kids always spoil things.
You're too simple to do some research on BL and any fights he's been in and I'm the little kid. You're so ignorant that not only do you have little idea of jkd, but you base a ma practicality on mma comps. Mma's have rules, BL advocated using any and every "dirty" trick you could - the fact is he was a real fighter before such things were popular.
Oh and might I add, your mom's so hairy she looks like chewbacca in a miniskirt .
Yes I am. I work a small group. And try to be just a guide. As the person learning has to find there own way thru discovery of training. I can just show and suggest to them The doing is what they do. With the tools they learn.
Did every founder of a style fight professionally? Did every founder of a style accept all challenges? Did every founder of a style fight full-contact?
As far as I know, some did and some did not.
JKD is part of the reality of the american scene, as much as is tkd, shotokan, goju, taichi, and tae-bo. Personally, I believe that Oyama in his prime could have taken just about anyone ( he killed bulls and he ko'ed the hwywt. THai champ) but I think the average man would be better off studying Junfan, JKDC, OJKD, or Fma than Kyokushinkai. Those kyo guys do alot of stuff that the average man would not want to do.
What you miss in your understanding Is the person in any art is what counts. JKD has a structure of tools based on what Bruce saw and developed THen taught. Bruce WAS very good. Things were much different back then. NO full contact fights as today has. Only street fights. He had some. He did not do point fighting. But contact training With different students and such. I am sure he could hold his own within his limit. No body is ever the best. He never thought he was either. People today want to say he was. That do not understand what JKD or the M/A is all about. And yes you can find some body each night to beat up. BUT can you fight some one who can fight back. AND still win. Treads like this take away from the forum and seem on a small level. Who can you beat. who have you beat. Whats it going to do to make you better. And a better person. Fighting is because you have to do it. Then you do. Ring fighting is training to fight most often a set person. studying ther game traing to out do them that night in the ring. ITs tough not easy. If UFc pride K1 had of been around 40 years ago. Bruce may have very well been thre in the ring. BUT it was not. And never base what some one else did or can do. Just look at what you do. The only thing to matter is but you the person. Think on it. Perhaps post and threads like this Might just go away.
Thank you...if I could make the unneccesary go away I would. No offense, but, your trying of educating those who hear but not listen would only make Bruce more impatient than he already was...your posts do not fall on deaf ears,however...

Ce sont des tireurs au cul. Tireurs au cul
First off not noly could lee have fought full contact in japan or brazilbut in thailand in mauy thai, he actually includes a mauy thai kick on a page in the tao of jeek kune do.Healso includes a savate kick (another full contact form of fighting he could have perticipated)
so we have VALE TUDO IN BRAZIL AND KICKBOXING IN THAILAND,JAPAN AND FRANCE(CALLED BOX FARANCISE OR SOMETHING)
so LEE HAD OPPORTUNITIES TO FIGHT, he did get in street fights in hong kong and at least 1 we know about in america and he did fight in an amature boxing match. His theories were at the time revolutionary, but as too date I don't think there's been 1 either mma, mauy thai or kickboxing champ who's been a pure jkd practitioner, they may claim jkd but probably train mma or kickboxing.BTW show me an instance where trapping has been effective in mma or kickboxing.
That being said, I think the straight blast gyms functional jkd and rodney kings street boxing are probably the best evolution of jkd, I also like burton richardson's stuff. If lee were alive today he probably be traing with the gracies and mma people as well.
Lastly to say that street fighters don't train for street fights isn't totaly true
Think of how many guys you know(fighters or martial artists that get into street fights, probably more than a few, sadly)I knew a guy from bouncing who was a fmr golden gloves guy with a bb in karate and a brown belt in judo who had been in 200+ street fights and his face looked it , a mashed nose and no front teeth,I had a karate instructor who was a frmer golde gloves guy who would get in street fights every weekend, tank abbot is most peoples worst nightmare in a street fight, a big bully who knows how to grapple and box and can take a facial beatnig and not mind. Also people who go around starting street fights either get real good real quick or get the crap beat out of them real quick. I think many of these people at least lift weights at home and practice their sucker punches on a heavy bag. After all not everyone who buys a bag at a sporting goods store is doing so for a cardio/selfdefense workout.
