Joaquin Almeria

Hi has anybody ever heard of a Dan Inosanto student by the name of Joaquin Almeria? He claims to be an instructor under Guro Dan but isn't listed on the Guro's HP. I heard rumours that he taught at the Academy for al while and later he had a school or group of his own in Las Vegas. I think he's from Spain orginally (not sure here).

Yes he is spanish. I have read many articles he wrote. He seems to be very knowledgeable about JKD, I remember an article on the JKD wooden dummy
techniques in which he explained the differences between the JKD and the WC
wooden dummy training. He said this training is for Guro Dan's advanced students only, and went on talking about him and the training at his school.
He said he is Inosanto' s man in Spain, and that since a few years. But I don't know more than that.

In Budo International he had dvd's on trapping into grappling, jun fan wooden dummy sets, and the jkd wooden dummys sets.

Yeah I know, I actually own the JKD dummy sets and Jun Fan Dummy sets video's he made.
But he's quite controversial from wat I've gathered. He seems to have trained under Guro Dan untill a certain instructor level. Nowadays he isn't listed on the Inosanto site as an Instructor.
He does however made some instructors in germany. But what he's up to now I don't know.

NO! Joaquin Almeria is not certified under Dan Inosanto! Contact the Inosanto Academy and they will tell you that joaquin did the aprentice program but was dismissed...according to them! I don't have any comments on this individual in question, but just to pick up on a point in this thread:

The Inosanto website changed a couple of years ago and no longer provides a formal list of all certified instructors. The instructors and their school's, that you see listed on the site now, have chosen to pay for that space as advertising. It is in no way a list of all certified instructors, which worldwide amounts to in excess of 300.

THE INOSANTO ACADEMY says he is NOT certified & only did the Aprentice program & was dismissed! why do you think i posted their phone # he needs to be exposed! JKD is all about the "Truth" in martial arts, combat etc. how can this guy claim he is certified under Sifu/Guru-Dan when the I.A. states otherwise! He is offering "FULL-INSTRUCTOR" certification DVD courses in JKD & Kali & hes not even certified...this guy (and his deceived followers) are full of it! Contact his wife Simo-Paula Inosanto (at the number or email them) & she will let you have it!

Before you go off on a rant, read people's posts. My opening line clearly states that I wasn't talking in relation to this individual, I was making a generic point about the Inosanto website so people weren't confused. That was all.

Regarding Sifu Juaquin Almeria

Because there has been so much debate lately over whether Juaquin Almeria is Certified through the Inosanto Academy or not, I took the time to research the question. Being a Private Investigator, I enjoy looking into these things. First of all, Mr. Almeria has really good lessons on youtube and it looks like he knows his stuff compared to other teachers out there like Dwight Woods and Courtney White to say the least. On the Inosanto web side there really are not many instructors listed but I know for a fact that there are many more. So one CAN NOT go by the list! Second i called the school and Spoke with a few people...If you are lucky enough to speak with Mr.Inosanto's wife she will tell you that he WAS part of the Instructor's under aprenticeship program but he was let go. that is why he is NOT on the Instructor list page. I asked then why wasn't Ron Balichi on there either?(Mr.Inosanto's son in law who is an Instructor) She said they forgot...lol...I doubt it...and Paul Vunak...oh we also forgot...Do you forget who your instructors are I asked...she stayed quiet. Here is the truth guys, Mr. Inosanto only supports those teachers who stay within the framework of the system he teaches. paul Vunak went on his own..so did dwight woods Juaquin Almeria and a million others. They just dont like the fact he is promoting videos and dvd courses. Mr.Almeria als has the Certifications to prove it...just ask. Take care all of you and always look deep before passing judgment.

yes this is true, ive traind with him for 4 years at the academy of gymnastics and martial arts in las vegas.

he is a very funny guy and very knowledgeable in , jkd, june fan gung fu and he is allso a professional acupuncturist.

i havent seen him in a while now i herd he is in Europe doing private lessons.

i do know for a fact he trained with dan, the guy who posted above me may be correct he never spoke of him being let go but it could be correct.

i came a crossed this thread in Google trying to find away to get a hold of him.

Rick Faye's JKD Wooden Dummy dvd is WAAYYY better than Almeria's and available at MKG.com (minnesota kali group). Just my two cents worth.
