Pearls in the hogpen? I have second thoughts about sharing MY secrets with the likes of some folks here. It's nice to see other artists getting it but too many kids and unknown readers looking for that kind of info. IMHO

Depends on your definition of secret, but point taken, guess you could say i was searching for intelligent discourse on surviving a life threatening assault.
However it Seems to be less than welcome for the most part, oh well its still fun to tease the monkeys.

                  Lets DANCE!

Just over twenty years ago now I was introduced to the QK concepts. The method of choice was what is commonly known as a double tap. One shot to the center of mass is good but two... you know. Better still is surgical targeting of specific organs. Hunting is a good example of this kind of killing. A sniper knows that grey matter will be deadly but the Medulla is the switch to turn it off right now.

Training to hit small moving targets with your weapon (sidearm or rifle) without raising the weapon to aim down the sights visually (sometimes called instinct or point shooting) is the real KQ technique.

QK as applied to blade work is a bit more complex. I tend to lean towards letting air into the chest cavity to colapse a lung or simple structural cutting to deanimate (limbs) as opposed to circulatory depresurization. Not that I don't know how but it's a last resort and less easily repaired by a surgical trauma team...

Yeah, I use the word losely. It's like my favorite fishing hole(s)... I'm not the only guy on the planet that knows where they are and how to get there. In fact I know for certain that others know my secrets and some of them even have their own way to get there.

The fish have been there since the earliest days and men have known of them for generations but the old ways of fishing in rivers and streams falls out of favor what with the fish being endangered species and all.

Just because some guy with a rod wants to try his hand at FISHING doesn't mean I'll share my bait or favorite fishing hole(s)...

                      Alrighty then....
Yeah those are nice when you you have enough steel on hand, in times when steels in "short" supply i find attacks targeted to the brain through the eye-socket , the spinal cord between the cervical vertebrae and last but not least...the abdominal floor through the groin can make up for "steel shortfalls".

Col. Applegate was the man. we use "dixie cups' and benjamin pumps for the long weapon and whatever closest approximates our carry for sidearm training. And of course the light switch index finger drills....

damn with all this dancin we trampled the pearls into the mudd...

We're talking about fencing? O kay! Mr. Tackett pointed out that JKD incorperates broken rhythm! (among other things) I tend to stray off topic with the QK training methods but lets say it's a "friendly" duel? First one to score a hit "wins". I can't help but think about the other empty hand that never gets used in a sword game. JKD uses trapping to open the target for your hit. The idea of intercepting comes into play. Attacking on the preparation (one of the five ways) comes to mind... How's the fencing lessons going?

You must have something good to share about footwork by now? Lets read it!

That other hand that never gets used in fencing comes in mighty handy in bowie work though. The left hand gets the "Arkansas Toothpick" or the black lantern, (that would be a Tac light in todays world.)

The duelling (bowie) is FUN as hell, but it isnt ANY indication of a street fight i know, ive tried!! he whips out a 10 dollar folder, you whip out several grand of polished steel..he calls YOU a crazy nut and runs...bitches and people say knives arent defensive weapons..Hah.

Very few things strike fear as deep in the heart of a man as a sharp knife.

I suppose that's why there are laws against "brandishing"... Too scarry!
