  • Just reading the 'what makes a master'

'Open mindedness is another attribute of a true Master. It is absolutely essential in order to achieve a high level of ability in the martial arts. Without it, it is impossible to learn an art properly. The "I'll do it my way attitude" can be self-defeating.'

just curious, wouldn't almost everyone in this forum class Bruce Lee as a martial arts master of JKD when JKD is his 'own way' style of an established art?

He didn't want JKD to be a style. I don't know what he exactly wanted it to be but when I watched his lost interview, he said he dosen't want to teach Karate because its a style. And some people have the attitude ( bruce lee is the best ), in my opinion he is a great martial artist not the best though, because there is no such thing. He was good in lots of areas though

A Master needs at least 36 credit hours above the Bachelors level. Karate college offers BS degrees in martial arts.............................

P.S. not really a serious answer just wanted to be flip about the topic.
