Nobody can answer a question like this. It all depends on the teacher and how dedicated the student is. If I had to choose between learning the two it'd be Kung Fu though.

karate comes from shaolin if you search its roots all japanese systems come from china, just like all of the japanese weapons they are decended from earlyer chinese versions,


chinese combat style Vs karate, neither one is better, both are useless and both are very effective, depends on who is teaching and who is learning,
