If anyone going to the seminar and wanting to stay at the same hotel, they can get the special rate at the hotel by saying that they are with the JKD group.. This seminar will feature some the other Wednesday Night teachers as well as two 1st generation Chinatown students, Bob Bremer and Jim Sewell. Mario Mandangal will be sharing some of Oakland JKD. We will also have 3 great grappling teachers that are also JKD guys and a part of our family. None of the teachers will make any money on this seminar as it's a non-profit one. All of the money will go to help pay the expenses of the instructor's airfare and room. We will be having around 12 teachers.

Are any of you guys that post on this forum planning to come to the Vegas seminar? We will have 3 grappling teachers there as some of our other instructors. Some of the subjects taught will be:
Lloyd Kennedy - Entering to takedowns to quick finishes.
Jim McCann - Countering the shoot and quick get-ups
Richie Carrrion - Countering the ring fighter. Richie was the 2004 NAGA grappling instructor of the year.
Mario Mandangal - Bruce Lee's Oakland trapping.
Bob Bremer - How to use the Hammer principle and the leg obstruction.
Tim Tackett - broken rhythm & intercepting
Barry Dixon - When and how to use the 5 ways of attack.
      Other subjects taught include:
      How to punch with power
How to get the max power in your kicks
      1 session just on footwork.
      etc.
We're still working on the curriculum so what would you like to see taught?

Tim, is the subject of tie-ups or clinching going to a sub-topic in one of the main topics covered by Lloyd, Jim, or Richie?

        Thanks,

        Lester

We could ask Richie to cover it. Are you going to be there?

depends on my money situation at that time. IF it's good, I'm game. But if not, then there's always next year, I hope.

This seminar may be the last chance to meet and work with Bob Bremer as his health is not that great and he'll be 78 in August. Don't miss any chance to work with any original student of Bruce Lee as they are not getting any younger.

I would love to go to this more than anything. A few questions, though, if I may ask:

                1. How advanced in JKD would you have to be to benefit from this class?

...Okay, I had one question. I'm about as beginner as it gets, so I wouldn't want to go and waste anyone's time or be completely confused by the terminology and techniques.

All levels will be able to fit in as we'll divide the students into 2 groups.

Wish I could make it, Sifu, but like I told you at Sifu Goldade's, it's right on the day of my wedding! I tried to talk her into moving it to Vegas, but I'm not sure she's sold on the idea.

It was great to work with you. I hope to do it again if not in Vegas, then Austin.
