Just came across your post. Just wanted to ecourage you in your efforts. Say, how about finding a decent MMA place and incorporating the Lee books stuff? Another thing you might do is to contact organizations that do "homestudy DVD, send us your video for us to comment on correct, send you one back with our corrections of your form" (stance, delivery, etc.).

Augustine Fong,(Wing Chun) in Arizona offers something like this :

This next one Samuel Kwok, one of the real deal Wing Chun guys in the world, also has something like that: http://www.massmartialarts.com/services.html

There are others ho offer this. Don't know of any JKD ones, though. By the way, you are not alone. There are people all over the internet with your situation.

Here is something you might do. Do what Lee did. He would spend hour upon hour impersonating someone like Ali in order to pick up his form, though process, etc. You could do that with that youtube clp of Lee saprring, for example. JKD instructor under Ted Wong, Terri Tom, in her book, The Straight Lead," says she does this:

"Even if you're on the right track with a good instructor, you should still be spending hours with those clips, with Bruce. Watch them. Analyze them. Remember them. The answers are there." (p. 184)

Tony Robbins, yes, Tony Robbins, covers this in his book, "Unlimited Power" (chapter 5). The book is about modeling excellence.

Dustin Hoffman has said that when he played that "Rainman" character, 'Raymond,' he did such a good job of "going there" in order to experience that character's perceptions, reality, he succeeded at it so well that he had a tough time coming back out!

Heck, if you could do that with some actual footage of Lee sparring, would that be something you could use? Then, again, don't go to far; you don't want to end up like this guy:

Again, it'd be best if you could combine this with some sort of actual contact with a live human being.
