I am looking for a pure JKD instructor, a Ted Wong ot the like in the West Central Ohio area. I have completed my Black Belt from IMB, but want to explore the true Bruce methodology. I am not opposed to heading out west, but would need some assistance with the correct contact information...

also i thoughtthe imb taught bruce's methodology, its just they stick to the stuff that was taught by bruce and da inosanto in LA

I know what Ghost is getting at, I appreciate that the term “pure JKD” could start an endless debate. However, in order to help this guy out with his query I think we know what he means. He is looking for a first generation student who teaches purely the material taught to them by Bruce Lee, as in the example he gives of Ted Wong, or someone under their lineage who follows that principle.

jdvr, you will have to excuse my geography as I am from the UK, but there is a school in Franklin County, Ohio. If that’s not close then my apologies. The Instructor is a student of Jerry Poteet and Steve Golden, both 1st Generation students of Bruce Lee, and also Lamar Davis. As I understand it, all three of these gentlemen purely teach the methods as taught by Bruce Lee, if that is what you are looking for. The website is www.blackdragonjkd.com

Just to stress that I am not offering a recommendation, I have never trained with the instructor at this school, but I thought this may help as a starting point for you.

I'm located in Grandview Heights, Ohio (Was Lancaster as Gary mentioned). That is about 5 minutes from Downtown Columbus.

As far as my JKD classes, I only teach what Bruce taught.

Also John "Simplicity" is an excellent choice if you are up his way... but just remember - he's a Michiganite. I think Ohioans are forbidden up there.
