  • Sets in Jun Fan JKD

Hi can any one tell me if Jun Fan Gung Fu had any sets or forms, I'm sure I was told that they had a kicking set but I'm not sure, if so has any one got any details on these and why they were taught.
    thanks.

    Hey Mark,

JFGF had some forms, Bruce had Sil Lum Tao, Chum Kui, Bui Gee, a praying mantis form, a tai chi form and most of the 108/116 mook jong form. He latter did not do these any more because he had no need. He didn't abandon them.

The first three and the mook jong form he got from wing chun, he learned the praying mantis form for demonstration purposes. The tai chi he got from his father.

When he first began teaching he taught the first three, then later only taught the first one. Then even later he didn't teach it any more.

Sigung Bruce had also made his own dummy form, "Jun Fan Mook Jong Kuen", the "Ung Moon", or 5 gate form which is done at the beginning of some Jun Fan classes, the 5 Star Kicking Form, and his advanced kicking form which is performed usually by the advanced students. This last form is taught by Yori Nakamura at the Inosanto Academy. Very cool.
