  • jeet kune do in Italy

I know this is a strange question, but:
I would like to start a martial art, and I think that the one I'd like most is jeet kune do. So I looked for a gym in my town, but I'm disappointed: all the websites I found are clearly untrustable. Even worse, there are a lot of discussions about this or that instructor, and the blames are quite serious. It appears that some gain exposure and earn money and followers by claiming experiences with international known instructors, or that they have been trained in military departments, etc though they can't prove anything of it.
So, I'd like to hear an external point of view: are there real representatives of this martial art in Italy as far as you know? My idea is to ask them and get a hang in this messy world.
    Thanks.

I only practiced JKD for a while around ten years ago, with an instructor of Mike Faraone.
I heard the same things about him, both from his detractors and followers: that he has
a strong personality/ego, but that he is really good. He seems to be more serious and mature
    now.
I would recommend his teachings but I saw that he's been deeply into Silat. It's not that
it's bad, it's just not what you are looking for.

You are right, the JKD scene in Italy is a mess but everybody says the same thing everywhere and
in different martial arts: I am the only or I am the first student under the only one who truly
knows this and that, and then they will show certificates and pictures.
I would say choose a school that seems good to you, give it a try first and see if you like it.
    You can always change.

sadly, I would do what you suggest, but all the schools I found aren't worth a single try.
